DYRL doesn't really take place per se... it's a fictional movie that was
made in the Macross universe telling the story of the Zentraedi conflict.
But if you mean you're looking for a general time period, events in Macross
Plus indicate the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the armistice.
That would place the original Macross war to have ended in 2010 - which
makes sense because Minmay's Flashback concert was performed in 2012...

Ok, Macross Plus takes place in 2040.  When did the original Macross:

DYRL

take place?

The question is related to an idea I got for an Evangelion fic :)  I
always wondered how well an Evangelion would do against a Macross mecha.
Of course, it's just an idea right now, and I don't feel like writing
anything at all this summer.
