Personally I would favor a Ranma/Spiderman crossover myself. The two
have a fair amount in common IMHO. Hmm, Nabiki gets the chance to
vacation in
New York and see Wall street, a place she's been dreaming of for a while.
However she's heard a lot about the crime in New York and extends the
invitation
to Akane and Ranma so that she'll have some personal protection.
Suppose someone like Goldman-Sachs or Morgan-Stanley, both of which have
Tokyo offices, hear about Nabiki and bring her over to New York to
interview or to do an internship. This would allow her official access to
Wall Street and depending upon whether the length of stay desired for the
story, allow a stay of a few days or a couple months. Or perhaps some sort
of summer program where the investment banks bring over talented high
school students interested in finance for an introduction to Wall Street
operations. Can you imagine Nabiki's initial reactions to seeing something
like an $100 million currency swap being done as a normal
nothing-out-of-the-ordinary transaction? Perhaps Nabiki might stumble
across some sort of money laundering or some other illegal financial
scheme. Laundering is nice because it can involve the organized crime or
terrorist group of your choice - Yakuza, Jamaican drug lords (really nasty
folk), Russian mafia, and so forth.
As far as her companions, I'm sure Nabiki could wangle a couple more
plane tickets (coach) for Ranma and Akane from the sponsors.
