O.K...I decided.. where the hell can I go in an hour?
Or rather "Can I actually write for an hour today without being
distracted?"
 Well, the answer is simply
 No.
I ended up writing for (give or take 5 or 10 min) about 40 min...
with the oligatory wandering about the living room, making coffee,
dinking some, spilling some, cleaning up.
Anyway,
What I did write is the start of the next part of my Sailor Moon
interludes...I've not een feeling like writing and (although "mood is for
cattle and making love") I have not really been in the mood to do so...
Which has left my Ami story sitting around for 2 weeks longer than I
expected.
Anyway....this is the START of the next bit (of which I'm not telling you
the title) look for the rest after I finally get the Ami story (and a 40
page essay (the reason why I have not been writing *anything* (including
it) written)
Anyway, as always C&C is lovely....

                     ****One Hour With Rei******

She decided to take an entirely different way home from
   school today.
She hopped on the bus going in the opposite direction away
from the Shrine and just rode.
She just didn't feel like being anywhere she usually was
and as luck would have it had no pressing business spiritual
or mundane to worry her. Well, maybe worry her, but at least
there were no claims on her time.
She needed to be alone tonight for some reason she couldn't
   quite put her finger on.
Grandfather would have argued that what she needed was
meditation and she agreed. The method was just different than
   that she usually practiced.
She watched power lines flicker and gazed at the
   surroundings outside the bus.
Her vision was that of blur and clarity as the bus stopped
and started picking up and dropping off passengers.
She considered putting on the walkman she had in her bag
but instead decided to let the conversations of the riders be
her music. She absorbed herself in the sounds which soon
became as restful and relaxing as listening to a mantra.

After a while the bus came to a point where it turned
around and thanking the driver she got off.
A short distance away was a small cafe with small iron
tables and ornate wrought iron chairs outside it.
She allowed a waiter (who seemed overly friendly - he wasn't
her type) to seat her and after ordering a coffee and cake
picked up her bag and entered the restroom.

She quickly changed into the jeans, red T-shirt and dark
blue pullover, and after a bit of folding, shoved the skirt
and middie blouse of her school uniform into the bag where she
had gotten her change of clothing. The blouse would wrinkle
but no matter, she had no school tomorrow and it needed washing
   anyway.

Deftly she applied some makeup, a touch of the
cola-flavored gloss on her lips and just a bit of shadow to
her eyes. Her long dark lashes and neatly arched brows really
didn't need anything to draw attention to them and her
complexion held just a hint of natural blush anyway but she felt she
needed the makeup even if it was only as a token form of rebellion.
She was a mature woman wasn't she?
And because of that, a special sophistication had to be
carried off. She was obligated to wear *some* makeup.
    - no matter what the regulations said at school.

Returning to her table she received her coffee and snack
from the waiter who paid even more attention to her than he
   had before.
She wasn't the least bit interested in him but that didn't
stop her from flirting - just a little, with him.
She took a sip of the coffee and winced slightly.
Although everyone drank coffee as some sort of status
statement - it was so "grown up". Honestly however, she
preferred the more traditional green tea.
Her preferences didn't stop her from ordering the coffee
but she didn't have to enjoy it did she?

She poured milk from the small silver pitcher into her tall
glass mug and watched as the creamy swirls moved in their
slow eddies slowly twisting and then mingling with the
darker liquid. Picking up the tongs she *plopped* two cubes
of sugar and then stirred with the small spoon. She sipped,
raised an elegant eyebrow and then added another two lumps of
   sugar.
She carefully used her fork to cut a sliver off her cake and
  tasted it.

Ahhhh, She closed her eyes and let the taste of the rich
   chocolate dissolve in her mouth.

She took another sip of the sweetened coffee and let the two
   tastes fight for domination.
Maybe, she thought she could get used to it after all.

She ate the rest of the cake quickly but attempted to at
least give the impression that she was taking her time.

*Some people* she thought couldn't do that.

*Some people* would have eaten the cake in a few gulps and
     ordered another piece.

Her stomach sent a sly whispered message to her brain then.
Wouldn't it be all-right if she had just a *tiny* bit more?
It wasn't as if it would be bad for her. She exercised didn't
she? She grinned at the double meaning of that particular line
of thought. And (more importantly) nobody would ever ever
     know.
She considered this and tried to think of an argument
    against it
     - and could think of none.

Just then the waiter appeared and asked her (what a
thoughtful guy... and kind of cute) if she wanted anything more.

    She did.

She was just about to ask for another slice of cake when
the reason she had been searching for flashed into he mind.

   *Usagi would do this.*

Usagi, her best friend, her constant foe, her Queen.
The girl who stole her boyfriend.

She ordered a glass of ice water with a slice of lemon.

                            ****
Sipping her water she allowed herself to glance about for
    the first time.
(before now the cake had taken all of her attention)

Although the place was small it had many clients but they
were all surprisingly quiet. When the table did not hold a
lone occupant (usually involved in reading or writing) usually
it held couples. (unlike her, the thought was a brief
     bitter one)
The couples spoke but usually in a low murmur with heads held
    close together.
She noticed in some surprise one of the patrons was looking
       at her.

He was an older man possibly in his thirties or forties with
dark hair and his skin was lightly tanned. His eyes which she
noticed as their gazes met were a startling green.
Realizing that their gazes had connected she looked away
   cheeks hot with a blush.

*Hentai* she thought, *dirty old man staring at a young
girl like that, as if...as if...*

"Excuse me" came a warm voice nearby and interrupted her
    thinking.
She looked up and saw the man had moved and was now standing
    next to her table.

"Excuse me for being so forward." the man said again.

"But would you mind if i asked you a question?"

 Afterward :

Just a brief not telling you it's *NOT* a self-insertian fic...
The guy may be in his 30's or 40's and I *May* be 31 but I look younger
 (honest)
Also the hair and eye colour are wrong for me.

I admit full guilt for the the cola-flavored lip-gloss however (I would
imagine Dr.Pepper.....but at least it's not bubble-gum flavored :)
