Ok, after seeing a few of these floating around last night, combined with
this little bit floating around in my head at work last night, I've decide
to take up the challenge. After thinking things through all night, I figured
I would be hard pressed to keep writing for one hour, even with my slow
typing speed and obsessive use of my spelling dictionary. However, I found
that I hadn't thought things through nearly enough and as a result I
finished this with a bout 4 minutes to spare. I don't have a title for this
yet and I doubt if I will finish it.

"Now call and make those reservations at the restaurant," Natsumi
scolded Nakajima.

Nakajima sighed and headed towards his desk in the empty office
feeling embarassed again. Natsumi had twisted his arm again to get him to
ask Miyuki out for dinner. He put his cup of water on the desk and sat. He
looked up the number of the restaurant and dialed the number.

"Hello? You've reached the Goddess Help Line. I'll be by for a
consultation in a second," said girl who sound as if she was 13 or 14 years old.

"Uhhh, I'm sorry, I got the wrong number," Nakajima replied, but the
line was already dead.

Nakajima noticed the water in his cup was starting to form a
whirlpool. As he stared at it in suprise, a black-haired girl started to
appear out of the cup. She paused with with her eyes just over the top.
After glancing around, she rose from the cup and hovered above the desk.
Nakajima leaned back, face faulted, and tipped over in his chair. He crashed
to the floor with a thud.

Twirling around, the girl exclaimed, "I'm here!"

Nakajima stared at her from where he had fallen on the floor. "Who
are you?"

"I'm Skuld and I've been sent here to grant you one wish," she
replied, floating down to the floor.

"A wish? What for?" He asked as he got up off the floor. He righted
his chair and sat back down again.

        "Anything you want," Skuld replied.

Just then Natsumi barreled in. As she grabbed her ticket book off
her desk she prodded Nakajima. "Make those reservations yet, Kenny?" she asked.

"Uhhh, uhh not quite," Nakajima admitted.

"Well what are you witing for?!?!?!" Natsumi demanded. "Who's this?"
she inquired, noticing Skuld's presence for the first time.

Nakajima started to panic, "Uhhh, ummm, this is my errr... cousin...
Skuld."

"Hey cool! I never knew you had a cousin, Nakajima," Natsumi
enthused. "Well, gotta run. Nice meeting you Skuld. Maybe we'll get together
some time. Kenny, what are you waiting for??? Get on the phone and make
those reservations!! You don't want to disappoint Miyuki, do you?" Natsumi
raced out the door and headed for the parking garage.

Skuld looked at Nakajima, "Who was that?"

"Natsumi Tsujimoto," he replied, reaching for the phone.

"Is she your girlfriend?" Skuld asked.

"Ummm, no, but I wish she would stop trying to get me and Kobayakawa
together," he said, half to himself as he started dialing.

Skuld gasped and then all hell broke loose. Anything that wasn't
heavy started to fly about the room as Skuld started floating slightly off
the floor. Her head tilted back and a beam of white light emanated from the
tri-oval shaped mark on her forehead.

Nakajima dropped the handset as the phone started to fly away from
the desk. He fell backwards in his chair again with a loud thud.

Just as suddenly as it started, all the commotion stopped. Skuld
look at Nakajima and announced, "Your contract is apporved. Natsumi
Tusjimoto will no longer try to bring you and Miyuki together. However, it
has been fated that you and Miyuki are destined to be together. Since
Natsumi has been barred from bringing you two together, I must take her place."

        "Huh???" asked a bewildered Nakajima.

"I said that Natsumi will no longer play matchmaker and I'll have to
do it myself." As the implication of her role sunk in, Skuld cried out
"WHAAAAAAA????" and grabbed the phone. After dialing an increadibly complex
number, she got in an argument.

"I don't know anything about matchmaking! How am I supposed to
complete this assignment?... Ohhh... I see... WHAAT??? Her???... but...
but... Ok, ok. Yes, sir." She placed the handset back into the cradle
dejectedly.

"What was that all about, Skuld?" Nakajima asked.

"Like I told the office, I don't know anything about matchmaking, so
they're sending an 'expert'. I'm supposed to let the 'expert' handle things
while I learn how to be a matchmaker."

        "Who's this expert?"

"She'll be here soon, just turn on the TV and wait."

Nakajima turned on the TV. Almost immeadiately, a well-formed female
literally climbed out of the screen, much to Nakajima's consternation.

"Hiii, I'm Urd. Now let's talk about your relationship, shall we?"

********

I don't know where to go with this from here, but with Urd involved, I think
Nakajima may wind up cancelling the contract.

C&C is welcomed,
