This is wonderful! I don't suppose you could continue it... Well, maybe
I'm asking too much. Still this does make me rethink the UY/Jeeves xover.
I suppose you could do a fic in which Sasuke and Jeeves go on a
manservant exchange program. Anyway, here's some C&C.
One of the things I really like about this fic is that you capture the
timelessness of the Jeeves and Wooster universe. Rather like Ranma or
UY, the characters age very little as years pass. Major world events
don't impact the stories nearly as much as cultural trends do. Bertie
exists in a very well-defined world which in turn exists outside of time.
Now for the nitpicking.
One evening, I was sitting and pondering the ineffable, if
that's the word I want, mysteriousness of life. How is it,
When I said nitpicking, I meant it. Bertie usually casts about for a
word rather than questioning it after he's used it.
I thought, that some nights a chap can feel that all is
boomps-a-daisy with the world, while at other times, he
can only sit and brood?
You've captured Bertie in a contemplative mood very well.
Suddenly I remembered a frightfully rum thing one of the fellows
You mention a few lines down that Bingo brought this up. You might want
to refer to him by names since Young Bingo is one of Bertie's closest
friends.
had been telling me in the Drones club a week ago. "Frightfully
convenient," he had said. "You just call up these places, and
they bring food right to your door."
"But, I say," Barmey Fotheringay-Fipps had said, "how do they know
what I want to eat?"
Very Wodehouse name there! I'm not even going to ask how to pronounce
Fotheringay. I have too much trouble with Cholmondley
So Bingo explained the procedure, and I must admit that it seemed
simple enough. I decided to give it a try. However, the first place

was busy, and the second did not answer the phone. On the third
try, however, I got a rather pleasant-sounding girl on the line.
Rather doesn't sound quite right, how about dashed?
Just then, the mirror began to glow, and a beautiful girl stepped
out of it. Bingo hadn't told me about this part of the procedure,
so I am not deceiving my audience when I say that my eyes bulged
from their orbits like the quills of fearful porpentine.
This is so beautiful. I have tears in my eyes.
"I am a goddess. You have been selected to receive a wish. Will
you please choose one?" She seemed a bit on edge, for some reason.
This must not be Bell-chan, then. If you have a particular goddess in
mind here, you might want to give some visual clues. If Bertie were a
bit sharper (hell, if he had an edge at all), he might notice her odd
clothing or her goddess markings. He might ask if he'd rung up an Indian
restaurant, or something like that. Or you can just ignore my blabbing
and let me write my own damn Wodehouse/anime crossover.
"But I think this little mystery of the telephone line is dashed
interesting. Still, if you insist, we shall not dwell on it, we
shall pass over it. Bertram Wooster will not mention again. Others,
of a more curious disposition might, but I will not."
If Bertie's doing one of his lectures, you might have him mention the
Code of the Woosters. Then again that might be overkill.
"Hello, Bertram," she said. "Welcome to goddess-hood."
I looked down at myself. "Oh, no, I'm a girl again. What will Jeeves
say?" was all I could think.
This ending leaves me hoping to see Bertie pop up at Nekomi Tech. It
leaves so many questions on my mind. Will Jeeves try to follow Bertie to
Asgard. Has Jeeves finally found an adversary he can't overcome? Is
this the secret original of Skuld? I'll just be quiet now.
