Well, more from my look at the list, and at my own experience ...
The one Ranma fic (besides my pathetic attempt at a fic about a year ago...)
I wrote, more as a joke/PWP got a lot more responses than just about
anything else I wrote besides the Patlabor fic. And the ranma was yaoi,
which means lots of people may have read it, and just didn't bother
responding to it...

Now let me ask *you* something: (This is generally directed at all those
authors who are unhappy with the amount of C&C they get; *not*
specifically to Andrew & Monica.)

Oh, lots of times, as long as I have time (which I sadly haven't, during
finals and the fact that FFML put about 50 fics in my inbox all at once...)

How often do you take the time to send some constructive criticism?

Again, depends on time, and on how much they seem to need- if it's a good
story, but w/some obvious problems, I comment. Also depends on the list.
Sadly, I don't respond/read FFML that much anymore- usually read CML-soc and
charmurai first and give comments to the fanfickers there...

If your answer to these is "hardly ever", then your complaints about not
getting enough response yourself doesn't carry much weight, IMO. C&C
UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM C&C UNTO YOU!! If you have time to
write, and time to read what the popular authors put out, then you have
time once in a while to read something by an unknown writer and respond
to it.

Well, I'm not really complaining- I know that people don't have much time to
C&C, or they're too lazy, or whatever. I'm just pointing out the trend in
the FFML, that's all. I honestly don't expect much feedback from this list,
actually, which is kind of sad, considering... as I said, if you want a lot
of comments (or a steady stream, whatever) then diversify into smaller
groups who have the time and have less fics to read- therefore leaving more
time to c&C...
