Well,
after what seems to be the complete flop of "Godzilla Z" and "The
Golden Rabbit", I guess I'll just stick with what is working....
So here's chap. 13 of TRIO.
TRIO:
THE VISITOR!
Ranma felt something brush against his lips. He squirmed in his
sleep and ignored it. However, when he opened his mouth and started
to snore, whatever had touched his lips now crammed itself into his
mouth. He gagged and opened his eyes. Eyes which went wide when he
saw the offending object in question was the left bun on Usagis head.
He quickly scrambled to his feet and tried to take in his
surroundings. He saw Gohan and Usagi sleeping on the living room
floor and then Ranma remembered why they were like that. Apparently,
they had been through as rough a night as he had, maybe even rougher.
He noticed the cuts on Gohan and thought, "Definatly rougher."
He stood and stretched. His back sent a wave of pain through him
and he groaned quietly, trying not to wake his friends. He walked
gingerly into the backyard and stood in a ready stance. He attempted
to try several katas but the pain running through him caused him to
stop before he could get to any of the real physical moves. Suddenly,
he felt a strange presence behind him. He turned but saw nothing.
The feeling would not go away. "Something about this day is going to
be different," he thought, "Very different indeed."
Later....
Gohan awoke and rubbed the sleep gunk out of his eyes. He yawned
and saw Usagi snoring away. He didn't see Ranma however and he grew
concerned. "Ranma?" he called out.
"Right here Gohan," Ranma popped his head in from the kitchen,
"You're awake I see."
"Yeah," Gohan replied as he stood and stretched.
The numerous cuts he had received from Blade Bot had started to fade
but he still felt like he had been used for a pin cushion. He turned
red as his stomach let out a gurgle. Ranma chuckled until his own
stomach answered in kind. Gohan smiled and said, "Let's go see
what's for breakfast."
He walked to the fridge and opened it. All that was inside was a
half drunk bottle of Sunny Delight, a single piece of vanilla cake
(that it had survived this long was a miracle) and a brown head of
lettuce. "Time to go shopping," Gohan deduced.
"I'm going shopping," Gohan said, "I'll be back soon."
"Need some money?"
"Nope. Got my own."
"Really? Where did you get it?"
"My little secret."
"We are going to have to have a LONG talk about this REAL soon."
Gohan exited before Ranma could say anymore. After he was gone,
Ranma walked upstairs and got his blanket from his room. He then
walked back to the living room and draped the blanket over the still
sleeping Usagi. "It's a bit cold this morning," he thought
defensively to himself, "A girl shouldn't have to be cold if it can
be helped. That's all. Nothing more."
He wondered for the rest of the morning why he had to have a reason
to be nice.
A few hours later, in the city.....
Gohan walked through the city. Carrying the three filled grocery
bags. This wasn't a complete re stocking. It was just enough to
hold them over for the day and then tomorrow the three of them would
go for their big food shopping spree. He was so lost in thought he
hadn't noticed when he bumped into... was that Trunks? "Trunks?"
Gohan asked.
"Forgive me," the man replied, "You must have me confused for
someone else. My name is Troy."
Gohan looked at the man and saw that the man in front of him had
grey hair with a purplish tint to it and blue eyes. Also, there was
no sword and his jacket was a normal black one with now words on it
whatsoever. "Sorry," Gohan apologized, "I must have had you confused
with someone else. Wait a minute, are you the same Troy who Usagi
works for?"
"You know Usagi?" Troy asked.
"Yep," he stuck out his hand, "nice to meet you. My name is Gohan.
"
Troy accepted the out stretched hand and replied, "Nice to meet you
too. By the way, where is Usagi? She didn't show up for work today.
"
"She's a little under the weather."
"I see."
"Sorry to cut our discussion short but I have to get some of this
stuff home before it spoils."
"See you around."
Gohan and Troy each continued on their separate ways. Gohan didn't
notice Troy let out a sigh of relief and didn't hear him whisper,
"Thank goodness you're all right my friend."
Gohan continued on his way until he ran into somebody else... or to
be more accurate, the person fell into him. Gohan dropped his bags
and caught the poor soul before he hit the ground and Gohan heard the
person say weakly, "Wh..where am... I now?"
The man was dressed in a vagabonds clothes, with a yellow bandana
with black poka dots on his forehead. A large backpack with an
almost as large umbrella was on his back and his face seemed to have
a strange, cat like quality to it. As the two of them sat on a
nearby bench Gohan asked, "Are you okay?"
"Sorry," the stranger said in accented English, "I've just been
traveling for a while and I got lost..." the stranger added under his
breath, "AGAIN."
"Where are you headed? Maybe I can help you?"
"I'm looking for the Tendo Dojo in Tokyo."
"TOKYO!" Gohan exclaimed, "I'm afraid your off by about a whole
continent! This is New York!"
"NEW YORK!!!" the stranger cried, "How the hell did I end up here?
!!"
Gohan thought sarcastically, "Didn't he notice a big body of water
known as the 'Pacific Ocean' and a land mass known as the 'USA'?"
The stranger meanwhile continued his rant, "I mean, when people were
talking English, I just assumed it was California or something, I've
ended up there several times before, but NEW YORK?!! I'm just glad
Ranma will never hear about this. He'd never let me hear the end of
it!"
"Did you say Ranma?" Gohan asked, "As in Ranma Saotome?"
The stranger turned his head and suddenly seemed to be filled with a
new energy. "YES," the stranger exclaimed, "that's him!"
Gohan thought, "This looks like a good opportunity for Ranma. He'd
welcome the chance to learn about his past," then he asked aloud,
"Is he a friend of yours?"
The stranger paused for a while and then said in a strange tone of
voice, "Why yes. Yes he is. Do you know where I can find him? Last
I heard, he'd disappeared without a trace."
"You're in luck," Gohan said, "I know where he is."
"That's good."
The stranger then added under his breath, "At last Ranma... revenge
will be MINE."
Gohan stood and motioned for the stranger to follow as he said, "My
name's Gohan. What's yours?"
"Ryoga."
Back at the house....
Usagi stirred and awoke with a large yawn. She sat up, the blanket
wrapped around her. She wondered where it came from. She didn't
remember much of last night after the parking garage had collapsed.
Ranma looked up from where he had been watching TV from the couch and
said, "Good morning," Ranma glanced at the clock, "or should I say,
good afternoon."
Usagi looked up at him and replied sleepily, "Wha tim iz it?"
"Noon."
"Th'n why do I feel lick it'z four AM?"
Ranma grinned and said to himself,"DEFINATLY a rougher night."
"And why does my hair feel wet?" Usagi asked as she started to gain
more consciousness.
Ranma decided to keep his mouth shut and simply shrugged. "Where's
Gohan?" Usagi asked as she looked around.
"He's out shopping. He should have come back a while ago."
"Maybe he ran into somebody he knows... or it could involve that
'job' he won't tell us about."
"Yeah, maybe. How about I leave a note and we go get some lunch?"
"Sure," then Usagi grinned, knowing what she was going to say next
was going to shock Ranma, "after practice."
Ranma started and replied incredulously, "You mean you WANT to
practice?! What brought this on?"
"Well," Usagi said as she gripped the sides of the blanket, "the
incident with Magico and after nearly getting killed last night got
me thinking..."
"THAT'S a dangerous thing."
"Do you want to hear this or what?!"
"Sorry."
"You certainly are."
"HEY!"
"Sorry (hee, hee). Anyway, I just got thinking that if my broach
got stolen once, it could happen again... and I don't want to be
helpless like that again," she gripped the sides of the blanket
harder, "never again."
"I understand. Go get ready and I'll be waiting out back. I may
not be able to help you much though, my back is killing me. I must
have hurt it when I landed in that dumpster."
"Dumpster? I think we better swap stories about last night later."
A little later....
"Forward punch."
Usagi complied.
"Now into a back elbow."
Usagi complied again.
"Better."
Usagi cleared the sweat from her brow with her right hand. "This is
HARD and I'm soooo hungry," she thought. Aloud she said, "Really?"
Ranma smiled and replied, "Yep. If Magico was still around, I'd
probably kiss him. I couldn't have motivated you better myself."
Usagi had to grin at that. This was no longer a matter of WANTING
to learn. It was a matter of HAVING to learn. Her survival depended
on it... and she liked her life way too much to give it up without a
fight. "Now," Ranma said, "let's work on your blocking."
Usagi went into what she thought was an okay high block but Ranma
could see it was sloppy at best. He walked behind her and
straightened her arms and put an arm around her waist to correct her
form. They both froze as Ranma did the latter and a rush of thoughts
ran through their heads.
"What's with me?" Usagi thought, "I haven't reacted this way before.
Then again, he hasn't been this close to me before."
She took a quick glance over her shoulder and got a peek at Ranmas
profile. "I guess he is kind of handsome... when he's not being a
jerk! Still..." she thought, then she mentally shook her head, "Wait
a minute Usagi. You DO realize that there's a fifty/fifty chance
that he's really a girl, don't you? Oh well, a girl can dream can't
she?"
Ranma noticed Usagi blushing slightly and he thought, "She's kind of
cute... when she isn't drowning the house with tears that is. Hey,
wait a minute! What if I'm really a girl??? Well, maybe I go that
wa... ewww! Gotta stop thinking like that!"
It was at this point, as the two of them stood with Ranmas arm
around Usagis waist, and they tried to gather their thoughts, that
Gohan, with Ryoga in tow, walked into the back yard.
Ryogas vision turned red as he totally misread the situation in
front of him. Gohan chuckled in amusement at the "busted" looks
which were on Ranma and Usagis faces. He then turned to introduce
Ryoga but was shoved out of the way by Ryoga. The lost boy then
charged at Ranma as he shouted, "RANMAAAA!!! HOW *DARE* YOU PLACE
YOUR HANDS ON YET *ANOTHER* WOMAN! DIIIIIIE!!!"
Ryoga pulled out his umbrella and swung it at Ranma. Usagi shrieked
and dodged out of the way as Ranma jumped up into the air and avoided
the swing. "Who the hell are you?!" Ranma asked confused as he
landed and grimaced as pain shot through his back.
"Don't pretend that you don't remember the name of Ryoga Hibiki,"
Ryoga growled, "The name which keeps you awake at night in a cold
sweat! Know now that the score between us will be settled once and
for all you shadow of a man!"
"So that must mean I'm a guy," Ranma suddenly found himself thinking,
"Glad that's out of the... HEY! I gotta think about this later!
This guy is trying to KILL me! I'm in no condition for a fight
now!"
Ryoga thrust again but by this time Gohan had recovered and he
leaped forward and grabbed the umbrella in mid strike. Stopping it
cold. "Wha???" Ryoga stammered, "How???"
"You lied to me," Gohan said in a low growl, "I don't like being
lied to. You are not welcome here anymore. Leave!"
With that Gohan flung the umbrella skyward, with Ryoga still
attached to it. Ryoga went spinning off into the sky and out of
sight. "Gohan," Usagi exclaimed, "what are you thinking??? You
could kill him!!!"
"In case you hadn't noticed," Ranma muttered, "he was trying to kill
ME!"
"Does that matter?!"
"It sure does to me!"
"You're hopeless! I'm going to check and see if he's still alive."
As Usagi ran off in the direction Ryoga had hurtled off in, Gohan
lowered his head in shame and thought, "I didn't want to kill him. I
hope he's okay. Even if he is a lying jerk."
Ryoga hurtled through the air about a block and as he was falling
downward he thought, "That guy threw me away like I was nothing!
He's strong!"
At that instant he fell to the ground and collided with a fire
hydrant. The hydrant burst and shot water up into the sky. Ryoga
was drenched and his curse was activated. P-chan crawled out of his
clothes and squealed in sadness. Here he was, farther from home then
he ever had been, he had failed once again to get revenge and now he
was in his cursed form. He wondered how this day could get any worse.
At that instant, Usagi came down the street and saw the pile of
clothes and a small black pig with a bandana wrapped around its neck
sitting on them. She wondered why Ryoga would abandon his clothes
and then took one look at the pig and cried, "OH, look at the cute
little piggy!"
She grabbed the pig in her arms and cuddled him as she cooed, "Awww.
Did that big, mean, nasty, Ryoga guy have you stuffed in his big,
old, scarry bag?"
P-chan started to squeal in protest and then he thought, "Hmmm.
This could be my chance. This could get me in close to crush Ranma...
and besides," P-chan blushed, "this kind of feels nice.
"NO," Ryoga thought, "I must stay faithful to beautiful Akane! This
girl is just a tool I can use," even as he thought it, he felt his
honor starting to belittle him. "I can't let that distract me now!
Destroying Ranma is more important than anything! I'm sorry for what
I must do young lady."
Usagi place the pig under her arm and then decided that she might as
well teach Ryoga a lesson in manners and took his clothes back with
her. She decided to leave the back pack and umbrella for him to find
later and chuckled as she thought, "Talk about the BARE essentials."
She carried the pig and clothes back to the house. When she walked
in, the two men saw the clothes and pig in her arms and they stared
at her. "Oh it's not what you think," Usagi scolded, "I found this
little guy next to these," she indicated the clothes, "They were
abandoned. So I decided that he was probably all right and taught
him a lesson in not lying."
The two men laughed. "That'll teach him," Ranma said in between
chuckles, "I hope it's cold tonight."
To their surprise, the pig suddenly leaped up and started to attack
Ranma. "Hey (ow) get this (ow) thing off me!" he yelled.
Usagi quickly tried to pull the rabid pig off and she scolded it
with , "Bad pig! Bad, bad pig," as she gave it a small cuff on the
ear.
Gohan held his nose as he said, "I think his smell is more dangerous
then anything else."
The other two sniffed the air and gagged. "Yuck," Usagi retched,
"pig sweat."
"Give him a gath alreagy woulg ya," Ranma gasped around the smell
which was quickly filling the room.
"I'm on it," Usagi said as she headed for the bathroom, holding the
pig in front of her.
P-chan realized what would happen if he didn't do something quick.
He struggled in Usagis grasp but the girl simply tightened her grip
and P-chan was effectively helpless. They reached the bathroom and
Usagi closed the door behind them. She placed P-chan in the tub and
then placed Ryogas clothes on top of the toilet. P-chan tried to
crawl out but the bottom of the tub was too slippery. Usagi observed
the pigs behavior and decided, "If he's going to thrash around like
that... I don't want my shirt getting wet."
She started to unbutton her shirt and P-chans eyes went wide before
he turned around. "Well what do you know," Usagi thought as she saw
the pigs actions, "a modest pig."
Usagi removed her shirt, reveling a simple white bra and grabbed
hold of P-chan. "Easy fella," she said, "I'm just holding you until
I'm sure the water temperature won't freeze or burn you."
Being this close to any woman and in this position, was too much for
P-chan and he fainted dead away, a small trickle of blood falling
from his nostrils. Usagi turned the tubs handle on and ran her free
hand under the stream until she was sure the temperature was hot
enough to get the job done but not hot enough to make bacon. She
filled the tub several inches and then she prepared to dunk the pig
into the water.
P-chan regained his senses and for a second didn't know where he was.
He was reminded when he was submerged in a bath of warm water.
Usagi was reaching for some soap but stopped as she felt the pig
beginning to change in her grasp. What had once felt like a pigs
back, now felt like somebody's chest. She slowly turned around and
came face to face with Ryoga. The two of them did their impressions
of deer in car headlights. Then, slowly, Usagi took her shirt, put
it on, buttoned it, and walked zombie like, out of the bathroom.
She closed the door behind her and after a long pause...
She screamed the house down.
Gohan and Ranma snapped their heads around as they heard the scream
and watched as a blond streak zipped down the hall and hid behind the
couch. "What is it?" Gohan asked in concern.
"Th-the p-p-pig," Usagi stutterer in shock, "i-i-it w-was s-s-some...
Ijustputhimintothebathtuband...."
Usagi was too rattled to continue and so Ranma and Gohan ran down
the hall and into the bathroom. There was no one in the bath tub.
"Where's the pig?" Ranma asked.
"I've got another question," Gohan noted, "where are Ryogas clothes?
"
"Probably the same place as Ryoga," Usagi said from behind the two
of them, making them jump.
"Whadda ya mean 'Ryoga'?" Ranma asked.
"I guess the shock got to me but now that I think about it, the guy
looked way too much like Ryoga to be a coincidence."
"Ryoga was the pig?" Ranma exclaimed, "Weird."
Ryoga, who was now dressed and leaning over on the roof, nearly fell
off of the ledge upon hearing Ranmas remark. "So," Ryoga thought,
"he's forgotten all about me. I wonder what else he has forgot.
Maybe he's even forgotten some of his moves. This is my big chance
to finally get revenge! Now I've just got to find my back pack and
umbrella. Now, which way is it?"
