Let's go a little further back:

1) Experiment 101-E by Larry Mann - a wonderful fanfic featuring
Shasti and Deirdre. Dirty Pair continuity.

2) The Ballad of Lord Robin by Ryan Mathews - I like Lovely Angels
Forever better, but this is the best intro to Ryan's work. Lord
Robin *rocks* - literally at times. Dirty Pair.

3) Putting Your Heart in the Right Place by John Biles - still one
of the best 'continuations' out there. Ranma.

4) Damaged by Elizabeth Tuckwood - this one actually made me go
out and watch a Sailor Moon movie. It's that good. No one has
done emotional torture better. Sailor Moon.

5) Scenes from a Life by Geoff Depew - short and sweet. Ah My Goddess.

6) Thy Inward Love by Richard Lawson - yes, it *is* as good as people
   say it is.

7) Twisted Path, Bubblegum Zone, and Undocumented Features lumped
together as examples of series that got *much* better as they went
on - the first parts are OK, the later stuff is incredibly good.

and my nomination for the one fanfic *everyone* should read, even if
they hate this series:

8) Just a Dream? - taking one of our favorite animes and turning it
inside out. Lyrical, action packed, and *really* great
characterization.
This one is beyond description. Urusei Yatsura.

Just a few blasts from the past.
