eeep! In my original response to this, I goofed a wee bit. Kuno
quotes that bit I think is the end of Tales of the Heike, about the
countryside being in ruins, at his sunset meeting with the pig-tailed
girl, not in the Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics storyline. His quote
on that occasion is from Sun-Tzu's "The Art of War" -- Chinese, but a
classical text appropriate for Kuno's perception of himself as a warrior
of the old school...
