It's perfectly ok.  You *do* bow to the dojo whenever you enter or leave it.
It shows respect.

yes, it does.  Actually, the title you address a martial arts master by
depends on what style s/he's involved with.  I don't remember specifically
which styles address their Masters as "Sifu" 

btw -  the first time I heard someone addressed this way, I thought he was
being called 'seafood' <g>
