The Weekly FFML FanFic Synopses List
For the week ending 7 June 1997

[Ed Notes: Here we go again. The Weekly Synopses List for the
week ending 7 June 1997. I must admit, I'm quite pleased with
this weeks List. Not because of the amount of synopses, there's
still not enough of the authors sending me their synopses, but
because of the VARIETY on offer this week. 3 1/2 new series/
series types(the first one is a grey area, so it only counts for
a 1/2), and that's not even including the Crossover section, which
has all sorts of non-Ranma/Sailor Moon stuff. It makes for a nice
change, in my opinion.]
[BUT STILL, whether you be a Ranma writer or a KOR writer or
a Samurai Pizza Cats writer, it doesn't matter. I WANT MORE
of you authors to send me those synopses, I'd like to see this
List as a near-complete record of the fic postage over the week.
But I'm not going to hound individual authors anymore, unless I
actually read and like their story, because a) Begging for a
synopsis has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth and
b) I really, really hate to not get some sort of reply to my synopsis
requests, whatever the reason the person has for not replying
(and I'm sure in most cases it's a good one), I really don't like
getting a reply. So that's that, from now on, it's up to authors to
send me their synopses, unless I'm in a whimsical mood and
decide to chase you up on them for some reason.]

1. Episode one features the Program at the Facility; we learn about
Arien - a human warrior fixated on the Saiyajin, and his quest for
ultimate power. Vegita trains Goten. Arien is attacked by
cybernetically-enhanced assasins, gets injured and picked up by
Bulma and Trunks.
2. Arien accidentally generates a strange form of chi-energy in his
sleep and dreams of an old match between him and Yamcha (the fight
where Yamcha gets his scars). The story of the Scroll of the Gods
is touched, and the Goten-Trunks-blue-haired-girl (Ami) love triangle
takes shape.
3. In episode three, we learn the nature of Goten's depression.
Arien says goodbye to Andrea, the woman helping him to translate
the Scroll of the Gods, which makes Andrea... extremely unhappy.
She unwinds at the dojo in the usual fashion. A new teacher works
out with her students, and shows off in the traditional Saiyajin way.
Arien has one of his usual conversations with "the Voice".

2. An ordinary Excision mission turns into a fight for life for the
crew of a Guild Raider, and ends up with them taking a trip into the
unknown... Part two of four. Follows "The Meeting."

Now we're up to chapter 4 which seems to be the action chapter. It
deals mostly with the mysterious stranger, is he a new character?
Enjoy Chapter 4: Secret Asian Man, complete with the first water
changing fun.

A Ranma 1/2 story set after the events of the author's "Thy Inward Love"
series. Two years after the marriage of Ranma and Akane, Kuonji Ukyo is
finding that all the fun has gone out of life. Ranma shows up on her
doorstep, needing help, then mysteriously runs off again. Ukyo drops
everything to come to his aid, and at the same time begins to face some
of the perceived shortcomings in her own life.

In the prologue, while Ukyou goes to school, Ranma falls down in
front of her. After a brief hesitation, they kiss.
In chapter one, which takes place a day before the prologue, Shampoo
gets into another fight with Ranma's other fiancees. Cologne cooks
a large bowl of "special" ramen to solve their problems concerning
Ranma's fiancees. Mousse, however, mistakes monosodium glutamate for
titanium dioxide, thus altering the ramen's effects. Later that night,
Ranma eats Cologne's ramen, splits into 7 people, then faints.
In chapter two, the author explains the origins of the ramen. The author
then explains that the ramen split Ranma into separate personalities.
The author then explains the characteristics of each Ranma. The author
then proceeds with the author's blahs.

The Herbs and Spices storyline is the first of three parts of the
Switch fanfic. It, effectively, is the introduction. Occurs just
after the anime has ended.
Part 1: Introduction. The first day begins, and the regular cast
go on their way. Dr. Tofu and Ranma have a man-to-man talk.
Part 2: Ranma grows a mustache. Ryoga has girl troubles. Some
herbs and spices begin coming up.
Part 3: Tsubasa chases Shampoo. Nabiki meets up with the man.
Kodachi goes after... Mousse?
Part 4: End of day one. Ranma, Soun, Genma and Cologne go to Mt.
Fuji to fetch Happosai.
Part 5: Start of day two. After a dream, Ryoga wakes up to Ukyo.
Kasumi reads a letter.

it's a collection of side stories concerning either events within the
main story, or building up to it.

Just Damp: Between day one and day two, the majority of the cast
have a shared dream, foreshadowing some of the latter events of
the story.

Genre: Crossover but curently focusing on Ranma. Mostly dramatic,
some comedic scenes.
The story begins with Ranma fighting Ryouga, and Ranma winding up in
the hospital to protect an innocent bystander who turns out to be Fox
Xanatos and her son Alex. This catalysed Akane discovering first
Ryouga's feelings then his curse. David and Fox Xanatos want to find
a way to pay back Ranma. And Ryouga wandered to Avalon and was enchanted
by the Wierd sisters.
