This is the first of my "Wait" stories. They take place in a period of
time between "Aftermath" and "Escape". They are just short stories.
Maybe I can actualy finish them off this semester...don't hold your
breath or anything though.
Heres 1, I'll post 2 tomorrow morning when I wake up...
As always, the characters are barrowed from Rumiko Takahashi without
permission, so nobody gets paid for this...

Kodachi
----------------------------------------
Kodachi put on the T-shirt gently. It wasn't easy, it stuck to the
calamine lotion. She had learned to be patient with it. If she rushed
it she would be itching like mad for the next three hours. Embarrassingly
she knew that from experience. There were other things she knew...like
not to scratch the itch, no matter how bad. Straitening the shirt she
looked in the mirror to be sure it covered her. Maybe she would skip
lunch today...it would be nice not to have to wear any thing more than
the shirt. At least till dinner.
Now she needed a diversion...the biochemists fun kit looked tempting
so she kicked it under the bed. Maybe a book...she looked at her book
shelf. It just sat there[1]. Perhaps not. Kodachi went to the window
and looked out on the court yard. Her brother was down there with
Sasuke. He was doing a lot more training as of late...probably to stay
away from her. Somewhere something inside her went ping. Kodachi
quickly blinked away a tear. It had been years since she'd cared what
that idiot thought or did...but then again, he hadn't been acting quite
so stupid recently...
He still ran around with his bokken, and still talked like a
Shakespearean play, but he didn't seem to have the same god complex
anymore. Maybe Nabiki Tendo was a good thing. Maybe she was turning him
back to her old brother. It was an interesting idea. It was a bit
frightening too. It suggested that Ranma might not be the man for her
after all...
Kodachi turned back to the window. Her brother made another series of
attacks on his practice dummy. The dummy no longer looked like sweet
Ranma. Now it bore a resemblance to, well, her brother actually. It was
an interesting mental image, her brother fighting himself in a literal
sense. Kodachi smiled, what internal conflict would bring the mighty
warrior Tetewaki Kuno to fight himself. He was probably having trouble
adjusting to Nabiki Tendo. He deserved a woman who'd drag him out of the
stone age and into the modern world.
Tetewaki...Kodachi blinked, she hadn't thought of him by his name in
... years...had it really been that long? She shivered. The thought
made her feel dirty. How could that much time have passed? Something
else went ping. Kodachi shook her head, letting herself get depressed
was the last thing she needed today.
Looking back out the window she saw Tetewaki make several graceful
attacks on the dummy. They looked showy and graceful, really more of his
old style..... . . .. then the dummy fell to pieces. Very small pieces.
Kodachi blinked, he couldn't have done that with the maneuver she had just
seen. The dummy should have fallen in four, maybe five pieces, not
hundreds. Perhaps her brother deserved more credit than she was giving
him...
It wouldn't be the first time she had discovered she was wrong about
him. His practice dummies were another example. She had always thought
that Sasuke made them for him...she had asked him to make a few for her
before. Then one day she had gone to tell Sasuke to make the dummy of
that Chinese bimbo instead of Akane Tendo...and there was Tetewaki,
building the dummy by hand. Sasuke was there just to hand him parts.
She wished she'd kept one of those around...
She looked back out the window, Tetewaki and Sasuke were gone
now...probably in the workshop making a new target. Kodachi sighed. It
looked nice outside, the sky was blue, there were birds in the
trees...maybe she would go out after lunch...but right now the sun
coming in the window was so nice and warm...

[1] Not that it had ever hopped up and said, "Hey, 'dachi babe lets
boogie!"[2]
[2] Well, there was that one incident with the fumes, but that was
probably just a hallucination.
