Okay, let's get this straight:

1)  It's not me who's doing Quantum Leap.  There are parallels, but that is 
all.  Ian Robinson does not live in a universe where Project: Quantum Leap 
exists.  He lives in a universe where Quantum Leap was a popular television 
program.  However, he does live in a universe where magical bookstores also 
exist, although they are rare.

2) I've heard of an author known as Terra/Sailor Earth, and "STAR 98" sounds 
familiar.  However, if you're talking about the same one I'm thinking of, even 
her fanfics aren't linked with the Quantum Leap ethos.  It's very similar, yes, 
but they don't stem from the same pattern.  Also, Terra doesn't have a 
holographic friend to help her.  All of her first successes come from being in the 
right place at the right time.  Therefore, there is still an opening for a 
straight QL series set entirely in Anime; unlike the (excellent and very well 
written) one-offs that have been done.

3) I'm not too flattered to be on the receiving end of this.  Had Terra herself 
actually sent this, perhaps I would be more forgiving.... but had it been 
worded exactly how you have done, I would still be as upset.  No one (except 
the copyright holders) really has the right to say you can't write this.  You 
may ask (respectfully) would they please not write something, since they're 
working on something similar, I suppose.  But again, I would expect to see that 
from the author themselves, rather than someone who's appointed themselves 
spokesperson.

4) I appreciate you letting us know about Terra's work.  However, I do wish you 
had put it another way.  I sincerely hope you didn't intend any offense.

5) In a way, I'm glad this message came to me rather than some newbie.  They 
might actually have been put off writing by this.  I again hope that you 
haven't done any damage by posting this publicly.  That would be something that 
I, for one, would be unlikely to tolerate. 


I would suggest that you brush up on the standard rules of nettiquette.  
Failing that, common manners.
