This is a topper after I've actually written this and it seems I tak about
cats quite a bit.. strange.
This is a mishmash of a couple of reviews... some neat reading material
which can be used for inspiration or simply satisfaction along with an
idea which nobody seems to really mention -Which, in the final analysis
could be REALLY interesting in a fic...
First of all a few comments about Sailor Moon Z...
I want more...
I need more...
I can really get into a story which mentions Jill Pole and the
Scrubb-meister at the time I'm re-reading the Narnia books...
the "My name is Aslan pretty lady, watch me dance." (I'm paraphrasing)
by Artemis amused and spooked me into next week for some reason....
I can see Luna also losing it bigtime if somebody sugests she's getting
old...which would be neat.
Okay...also, as far as I can see the White Knight can only be one person
(but I've also noticed another one never seems to be around either... but
I could have read this wrong....some ideas on the first bit and the
transformation from ....um...awkwardness...to beauty is noted below...
I guess it's the "ugly duckling syndrome" but if that's not an actual
phrase - dibs!!!!
(It's about here that I'd love to plug my favorite independant (or at
least semi-independant comice -The SPAM portion of our evening
Actually The fact that these are independant (or semi) productions which
sometimes have a little (or a lot) of an anime feel to them maybe not.
These books like fanfiction in general seem to speak more to me heck of
a lot more than "mainstram"
1. A book that my store is trying to put away for me but they always
forget / not manage to get enough as it is taking off Reality Check.. And
of course now it's really taking off in TO so they have to try harder...
Very anime very catgirl....
2. Xeno's Arrow: Whose advertising blurb pretty much tells it:
"Space is big and we are small
-and don't know where we're going.
cute, paranoid odd and sarcastic alien "exhibits" in a space zoo
try and make a break....add one *bizzaro world* han solo-maniac and fun
fun fun.
3 Thieves and Kings. Not as anime-like....no not true.. Slayers, Lodoss
War and the death Knights from Laputa...Sort of Studio Ghibi like but with
more ..um.... umm....I'm not sure...more something.
This does not really
describe it at all but may give you a bit of the picture...I am drawn into
a strange
fanboy attraction with he Queen of Halves/Sally...I think the characters
probably has some of the bits from my anima or something....
4. Galaxion ((now #1) originally in Salamagundi. In a nutshell Star
Blazers meets literature (did you know that in Star Blazers third series
there is actually a guy called "Buttmaster Rammitt" I needed to be drugged
after that.) Not a fair description either but again although Fusella has
great hair and is possibly more fey looking I really like Aria and her
taste in reading and cat names (Aslan again)....yes I realize I'm losing
it...I've been up 30 hours....
****on an aside... people seem to write Robotech stuff even phasing out
the original characters...why have I not seen any Star Blazers
stuff....(yes, Star Blazers not Yammoto...)******
And
5. An actual magazine
Giant Robot which has and is the sourse of some pretty strange
things from all of Asia.../the Pacific... such as a visit to Sanrio
Puroland (is Ranma afraid of "Hello Kitty"
Alright... now for some more reviews... I hate when I simply read and
review things with a "I like it so I read it....or the opposite "I read
it..I liked it." as it seems to lack a certain critical depth....
Moving away from the happy-cat (sticks tongue out...looks dazed) stuff
trouble seems to be brewing in "The Further Adventures of Serena and
Luna" ...O.K...
while I'm there....
another series which I think is great...
and I am constantly drawn (again and again ..as it has worked it's way
into my memory ) to the last two lines of part one which give me
a particularlty strange feel good sort of feeling....
Ubiquitous Tears
Whoops!!! I made the mistake of printing this out and reading it at the
same time as Richard Lawson's Ukyo story (which I ranted on about
already... so I won't now). If I had been listening to early Smiths at the
same time I would have run-not-walked to the convenience store for the
razor blades.... I confess I love angst...
I think it captures some the emptyness we all feel inside ourselves at
some times....strangely enough a beautiful story like "Red" can do the
same thing.....
Serendipity (ARRUUUAAAUGH...Another Lawson!!!! Why do I keep doing
this????) Hmm...More of "Thy outward.." I'm not sure I'm entirely
comfortable with this particulair series -or the concepts exactly... but
again not totally weird enough to freak me out.. I read them
anyway, goofy me. (Stuff that REALLY bothered me was actual "literature"
like "The Painted Bird" and "Almost Transparent Blue" but I guess I read
those as well. ( if I was stuck like Ranma I might head in the other
direction... would I become a lesbian? would I *really * be one? or, WOULD
I be attracted to men...??)
(let's avoid that thread again...) I LOVED Ranma's hydrophobia....
or rather the concept behind it....here again once dragged into the "real"
world Ranma characters become fodder for therapists....

I like it...but for me part 4 just goes over the top....the whole
implied/shown loss of Rei's child just brrrrrrrrr......
I mean the whole name calling violence thing tends to shove me away
(yes, I will watch stupid Zombie movies but hated Resoviour Dogs -I could
appreciate it as a film (sort of) but the cop killing was to much...)
Unlike the previous example I want to read more in hopes of a
resoloution.
Alright... now a little bit of something people keep threatening to write
and THEN an important Sailor Mood Story thought.

Why is the Melve-meister picked on... of course we could say it's because
he's a funny looking nerd but hey, what's this?????
There is a great scene in the first volume of the manga during the
princess D storyline where the princess sprawls on the ground
leaving her glasses becide her

and when she looks up... da da.. she's a babe...
The next panel is the mega-sweats of 3m (Mars Moon and Mercury) as they
have the collective thought of Umino/Melvin as a
mega-hunk....well maybe hunkus-minus a sub-species...
