Of course, the scene I -need- for Ecchi 1/2 Ch. 1 to proceed ain't comin',
but this setup for waaaaay later in the series is. The ending gets close to
lemon, but stops just short, just so you're warned.
This is a more serious section of the concept, so I need to explain a few
things which have happened in the meantime:
Nannichuan has been destroyed. The last of the Nannichuan water was spilled
accidentally on Akane.
Akane, who hates perverts with a passion, has found herself more and more...
um... interested in Ukyou since her appearance. (Ukyou in E 1/2 is virtually
unchanged, one of the few charas of whom this may be said.)
Immediately prior to this, Ranma told Akane that he loved her. Rather than
resolve anything, this has made Akane's problems worse for various reasons:
(1) She doesn't know how to deal with Ranma's other hangers-on, notably
Shampoo-sensei and Ukyou.
(2) She's afraid she might be in love with Ukyou herself.
(3) Her own feelings towards Ranma are notably mixed- friendship, maybe
love, but at the same time the rage she holds towards all perverts (which
she knows is unwarranted, but that doesn't help)
So...
Lost in thought, Akane failed to notice the three soup cans falling
from the sky until they impacted, one by one, into her head. Wincing, she
rubbed her head and looked up to see a woman in a housewife's dress and
apron floating down towards her with a bag of groceries in her hands. Tiny
yellow horns poked up from the kerchief covering her long wavy green hair.
"Oh, my!" she said. "I'm sorry! I hope I didn't hurt you!"
"I'm fine, thank you," Akane smiled. As she helped the oni-woman
with her groceries, she said, "I'm Akane Tendo. Nice to meet you."
"I'm Lum!" the woman smiled. "I'm so sorry about the cans, but I'm
in such a hurry. Darling's parents are coming to visit tonight and I have to
cook for them!"
"You're married?" Akane asked. "What's he like?"
Lum smiled brightly. "Oh, Darling is so wonderful!" she sighed.
"He's not the smartest or the most handsome of men, but he's sweet and kind
when he wants to be. He always helps me out when I need it. And he loves
everyone!"
"Sounds like a perfect love story," Akane sighed.
Lum's smile faded. "Are you having love problems, then?" she asked.
Akane nodded. "This guy I think I like, except he makes me so angry
sometimes, told me he loves me. But he has other girls chasing after him,
and I think he loves them too..." She paused, not quite able to finish the
statement.
"Come on," Lum said. "What else is there? You can tell me, I won't
mind..."
Akane looked up at the slightly older woman, into her large,
innocent-looking eyes. Finally, she whispered, "... I think I might be in
love with one of the girls too..."
"Hm." Lum set down the bag of groceries and pulled Akane down to sit
on the walk with her. "Let me tell you a bit more about Darling."
Akane listened as Lum told about how the two had met, their early
life together, and how, every once in a while, despite his outrageous
behavior, the man named Ataru had shown a glimpse of his deep affection to
Lum... and then hid it away again.
"I didn't understand it for the longest time," Lum sighed. "I knew
Darling loved me, but he'd always run from me- chasing other women. Finally,
I asked him to make a choice- the other women, or me." Lum smiled at the
memory. "I'll always remember his answer. 'What good are all the women of
the world without you?' he said. 'I love all women, young, old, ugly,
pretty, Japanese, American, Chinese, it doesn't matter. But I love you most
of all.'"
"So, did he quit, then?" Akane asked.
"Of course not!" Lum chuckled. "When I asked him to, he said, 'Why
do you ask me why I run from you? You tell me to give up my love for women
so I can love you- but how can I love you and not them?'"
"That sounds self-serving to me," Akane grumbled.
"Maybe," Lum acknowledged, "but it's Darling's way. But then he went
on to explain it to me. 'It's like family, sort of,' he said. 'You love your
mother and father and Ten, right? Well, let's say Ten said you had to quit
visiting your parents if you wanted to love him. This is the same thing.'
"I asked how it was the same thing, and he said, 'My love is not
limited to one person. It can't be. My love for you doesn't detract from my
love for Shinobu and Sakura and Ryunosuke and Ran and-' ah, well, this went
on for a while, but he explained it. And when I saw it, it was so simple."
"I still don't see it," Akane shrugged.
"It's very simple," Lum said. "If you or your Darling love more than
one person, then you don't have a problem unless you don't want to share. If
you can be friends with the others your Darling loves, then why not share?
He won't love you any less. Maybe even more."
Akane thought about this for a moment. She didn't want Ranma running
around like this Darling... but would it be 'running around' if she
approved? And what about Ukyou and Shampoo? Would they go along with it?
Thunder echoed from the horizon, and Lum and Akane both looked up to
see dark clouds rolling in from the south. "Oh, dear, I'd better get home!"
Lum said. "Think about what I said, now! Bye-bye!" Grasping the bag of
groceries to her cheast, Lum leaped skywards, streaking off towards the
Tomobiki district.
Akane got up and began running home as well. Little reasons aside,
she did -not- want to have to explain why a large, muscular man was wearing
a small yellow dress and blue silk panties.
More importantly, though, she had a couple of phone calls to make...
Nodoka, thankfully, was not at home, having departed for parts
unknown earlier that afternoon. Kasumi was in her room, probably with
someone else from the loud moans and shrieks which echoed throughout the
house every couple of minutes. Happosai and Ranma were in the dojo, arguing
over whose turn it was to rake the garden.
In Akane's room, Akane, Ukyou and Shampoo sat on the floor. Shampoo
was dressed only in a bath towel, having been caught by the storm on the way
over; the others had on their normal clothes. The rain pounded down on the
roof and the window as Akane told them about the discussion she'd had with
the alien woman earlier.
"... so, after a lot of thought, I've decided that... if you are
open to the idea... we should stop fighting over Ranma."
"It is one thing to propose a cessation of hostilities," Shampoo
muttered skeptically, "but entirely another to honor such an agreement."
"Right," Ukyou said. "How am I supposed to know one of you won't run
off with Ran-chan and leave the rest of us to hang?"
Akane slammed her fist down on the floor. "We WON'T! Now listen,"
she said, breathing deeply, "we know Ranma has at least friendship for all
of us, right?" The others nodded. "Well, then think of it this way. Once
we've started this, if one of us takes Ranma away from the others, how will
Ranma feel about it?"
Ukyou and Shampoo looked uncomfortably at each other before Shampoo
mumbled, "He would probably be less than happy about it."
"Exactly," Akane said. "Ranma is why none of us is going to be
selfish with Ranma. We either share him together, or we risk losing him
individually."
For a long moment, the other two thought the idea over. Shampoo
smiled slightly and said, "Well, if I say yes, I can never return to the
Amazons again..." The smile grew larger. "...but fuck them anyway."
Ukyou smiled. "That's the spirit! Now, who gets to marry Ranma?"
"That's easy," Akane smiled. "According to Amazon law, Ranma's
already married to Shampoo anyway. Since Ukyou's family isn't speaking to
her anyway, a legal wedding isn't so important, so we can have a small
private ceremony for her and leave out the marriage license. Ranma and I
will remain engaged, eventually marry, and we can all live here together."
Ukyou shrugged. "Not exactly the life of my dreams, but I'll cope."
"I have a question," Shampoo said. "We have no way of knowing how
Ranma will deal with this proposal. He might be a bit... well... hostile to
the concept."
"Then let's get to work... persuading him," Akane smiled.
"Oh, Dad? Mr. Saotome? Someone just called on the phone asking who's
going to pay for the warehouse of men's briefs Mrs. Saotome just destroyed."
"Hm. Saotome, I think a short training trip would do us both a world
of good."
<I agree! A month or so, perhaps?>
"An excellent plan! Hokkaido is wonderful in summer, I hear!"
Akane smiled and put the phone back on the hook. Sometimes it's so
easy I'm ashamed of myself, she thought...
Ranma opened the door of his room to see Shampoo, naked, lying on
his futon reading a book. Before he could move, she looked up and smiled.
"Ah, Ranma," she purred, "we've been waiting for you."
The door slammed shut behind him, and two pairs of hands began
working on the clasps of his red tunic. "I...ah..." He turned to see Ukyou
and Akane, both also naked, standing and smiling side by side.
"Ah... what's going on?" he said at last.
"I believe the word is, 'detente,'" Shampoo smiled. Sbe arose from
the futon and walked over to Ranma, purring, "I don't have you, Ukyou
doesn't have you, Akane doesn't have you... but we -all- have you."
Ranma's eyes widened, as the presence of openly willing female flesh
around him sent certain involuntary reactions into overdrive. "I, ah..." he
muttered, "um, ah, I don't, ah, suppose we could, um, wait for marriage, or
something?"
"No," Akane said. "It's my turn to be a pervert, Ranma... and I
wanna fuck."
"Me too!" Ukyou bounced.
"And I also, Ranma," Shampoo smiled, hugging him gently. "You're
going to Heaven. Face it."
A second later, Ukyou and Akane joined the hug, and Ranma found
himself surrounded by naked, horny, busty women.
Naturally he passed out.
