Feeling really ignorant here.  What precisely is a "Blue"?

Lum's best counterpart is Akane.  (Why does Lum zap?  Why does
Akane pummel?  Both have a pet that's an overlooked rival (P-chan,
Ten).  

I wonder how Ten would feel if he knew someone thought of him as
Lum's "pet" (probably similar to Soun's reaction to being referred to as a
pet of the Tendo household by Gosunkugi)
