Hmmm, the first Super Hero comic that I can remember reading was an
old issue of Justice League Europe, back when it was funny and had Captain
Atom, Animal Man (who makes a better Vertigo character), etc. The first
manga I ever read was Appleseed Book 4 (translated though). While we're on
the topic of Appleseed....
....the small Munma Landmate grabbed a man from the crowd and landed
on the roof of a nearby building, clutching the man in front of him as a
human shield. "This guy is my hostage!" the landmate pilot yelled out.
"Stay back or I swear I'll -- hey! Where are they!?" The terrorist whirled
about trying to spot his pursurers. Suddenly a matte-black ESWAT Landmate
landed with a heavy *thud* in front of the panicked terrorist. The
terrorist started to bring his gun to bear but the black Landmate was
quicker. In a matter of moments it was all over.
Briareos landed next to the trio on the rooftop. "What the hell
were you doing!? You put the hostage and yourself in danger!" he screamed.
"And what have I told you about using THAT!?" he said, pointing to the large
mallet in the black Landmate's hand. "It may look intimidating but in an
actual combat situation it's next to useless!"
"Useless, huh?" *WHAM!!!* "Briareos no baka!"
Coming no time in the forseeable future:
AKANESEED
