I thought I'd try my hand at this, because this is a song that's been 
wafting through my brain for days.  Of course, if you've heard this song
before, then 
you'll see what I mean....

"I Can't Make You Love Me"

[Camera pans on the Ucchan, broken and battered after a night
of the Usual(tm).  Ukyou sits in the center of the room, cradling a dazed
and bruised Ranchan.  Somehow, miraculously, Ranma is unconscious
and not Akane, nor Shampoo has noticed that he is still at the Ucchan.]

[Slowly, she hefts him over her shoulder, and carries him to her spare
room.
There, she gently lies him on the futon, as the music starts to play.]

"Turn down the light, turn down the bed,
Turn down these voices inside my head."

[She manages to squeeze herself onto the futon and lies next to him,
manipulating his arms to hold her.]

"Lay down with me, tell me no lies,
Just hold me close, and don't patronize.
Don't patronize."

[She remembers what started the fight; it was just Ranchan, being his 
usual charming self to Akane, insulting her and loving her at the same
time.]

"Cause I can't make you love me if you don't.
You can't make your heart feel something it won't.
Here in the dark, in these final hours,
I will lay down my heart, and I feel the power
If you won't, no you won't.

[The fight plays out in her mind, as the tears roll down her cheeks.  She
shuts her
eyes against the cloud of memory that reveals what she doesn't want to
know.]

If I close my eyes, then I can't see
The love you don't feel when you're holding me.
Morning will come, and I'll do what's right.
Just give me 'til then to give up this fight.
And I will give up this fight."

[Her mind flashes back to the moment of her humiliation, when a little
girl ran crying after a yattai, the love of her life gaily waving at her as
he
receded from view.]

Here in the dark, in these final hours,

[Ukyou turn to Ranchan, who murmurs in his sleep.  She leans in closer to
hear his sleep-tossed word: "Akane."  Ukyou closes her eyes wearily, and
pulls herself closer into Ranma's embrace.  The camera fades to black.]
