I find that the whole Ranma group are a bunch of breakdowns and rampages
ready to happen.
 I think we all do to a certain degree otherwise there would be no
fanfiction where 
 a) Ranma kills himself
 b) Somebody actually kills Ranma.... and maybe somebody else dresses like
Ranma and goes bats....maybe even Ukyo ( I wish I could remember the name
of this off the tip of my brain
 C) Anybody kills anybody else
and of course the many where Kasumi simply *snaps* and goes on a killing
spree.
 I think that although the argument could be put forth that "they are just
characters so obviously they would have one or so thing about them
inflated."
 I'm not sure about this....
 I think that when the two-dimensuional comedic characters are fleshed
out  and made "more real" as characters they bring this one unhealthy
coping/defence mechanism with them.
 This also seems to rear it's head more in Ranma for some reason...as far
as I have seen. I know myself in writing a little bit in the SM genre the
characters may be designed as a type but they also seem (to me) to have
more mental stability...
 I have not really had a chance to read all of the Tenchi stuff out there
but I'dd be interested in seeing if this holds true there as well.
