During the same time period that fcasper got five messages from the
list, I only got one, so it seems as if the list is kind of sputtering,
partially functional, presumably as part of the repair process.
Something I posted at 2:30 never went through (to me anyway) but then I
got fcasper's message apparently soon after he put it up (it says 17:32
it was 18:32 here, so I assume a time zone difference) This result
suggests to me that the list is up and down, or processing partially.

You go, White Wolf -- more power to you. We're behind you all the
way--though, evidently, not behind you enough to stop overloading the
list while you're trying to fix it--but we mean well anyway.
