This isn't a perfect solution to what I do see as a problem: namely,
that there are far too many fanfics going through this list weekly
than can be given a chance (and read) by most people, even
considering the synopses idea. Which is an excellent one
nonetheless, IMO.

This has changed from "Gain back the good old days" to "There are to many
fanfics a week".

That's what the "good old days" consisted of: less fanfics. We
therefore had more time to read each of them individually.

That's what this ML is about as far as I understand it.
I've said it before I'll say it again, I joined to read Fanfics, C&C and
maybe put some of my own work out. Everything, and I mean, everything is
secondary to that.

Then we have different opinions on what's important. That's fine.

We've offered you a solution. Start your own ML with as
few people as you like.

When I first started making this suggestion, I'd hoped to get at
least a *few* positive responses that maybe it was time to split the
list. Well, there's been exactly *three*, although they're for
splitting the list slightly differently. 95% of the people here
really don't want it split.

So it's not going to do me much good anyway to start my own ML, if
there aren't very many people interested in trying a split.

You've complained about to much "On-Topic" stuff.

Tell me, do you have time to read very many fanfics coming through
this list? Don't you feel badly that you can't read more of them,
and give some of those authors a chance to be read? I know I do.
That's one major reason I was making this suggestion.

I'd pe more apt to complain about the off-topic stuff but I realized that
spam will happen. I've read every fic I've gotten except those for which
series I'd don't know about but I save them on my hard drive until I can
find out about the series.

Then you must not like Ranma very much, or you must have a GREAT deal
more free time than most of us do. At last count, I think
approximately 50 Ranma fics went through the list last week. (before
this spam thread began) So...you read each and every one of those?
