Not exactly... Galactus needs the help of this big ol' contraption
to "eat" a planet.  He couldn't even blow one up with an energy beam, unlike
the Z warriors.  Galactus is just a big hungry pansy... he was more
formidable as Elvis!  Yes, he became Elvis!  Look at the "What If" special

	Actually Galactus doesn't need the contraption to eat the planet.  He 
only uses it so that he can consume the planet's biosphere in a very effecient 
manner.  He has consumed planet's unaided in the past, When he does he shatters 
the entire planet into asteroids and falls alseep for a few days.
