Just a quick reminder, I was *not* advocating a split of any sort.
I was just talking about it, and several people started running around
in a paniced terror, screaming about the sky falling.

That's downright silly. While the owner of the list has not spoken
up on the issue this time, he has made his opinions on the idea
known in the past whenever the spectre of a split reared its ugly head.

And so has Kun-chan, so that definetly settles the issue. ;)

(I'm going by memory on the first comment, but I'm pretty sure that
WW has stated in the past that he does not want to split the list in
any way, shape, or form. The second comment is just a little joke
about who the real owner of the list is. :)

Now, some good *has* come out of this discusion.

1. Someone has been inspired to set up a weekly synopsis of fics
as suggested by Damion. This will hopefully help new writers
    gain new readers.
(Kuddos to whoever is organizing this, by the way.)

2. There has been a call for the reduction of spam. This will lower
the amount of spam for about three days, when it will shoot back
up to normal levels. But still, those three days will be very
    restful. :)

3. Not to sure about this one, but I think that Damion is going to
set-up at least one, perhaps more, mini-ffml's. Not to replace,
but to complement the existing one. I'm not sure how this will
work, if it is done, but it can't hurt to try.

As a last part, I'd like to give a brief review of this whole thread,
because there seem to be several people who are confused as to what
exactly has been going on.

1. Damion, wishing to capture the spirit of the past, suggested the
    establishment of several mini-ffml's.

2. While there was a near universal agreement that the good ole days
were great, there was also a near universal agreement that we
    should look ahead, not back.

3. Gary Kleppe(sp?) offered his opinion, that the only way a split could
work, would be a split based on content. He then broke the list down
    into five different lists.

     *deep breath*

GARY DID NOT THINK THAT WE SHOULD DO THIS! HE ONLY SAID THAT THIS
WOULD BE THE ONLY WAY A SPLIT WOULD POSSIBLY WORK!

I say again; GARRY WAS NOT ADVOCATING A SPLIT OF THE GROUP!

    *pant* *pant*

4. I thought that Gary's idea was interesting, and took it up. Again,
I was not advocating a split; just doing some idle speculation.

I still think that the only problem with this idea, is the set-up and
maintenance of 5 lists.
