Here's chapter 8 of TRIO.

				  TRIO:
				A DAY OFF

	The waves crashed against the sandy shore.  The sea gulls squawked 
as they lazily looped through the clam blue sky.  Little children 
laughed as they splashed through the water and Usagi, in a two piece 
(yet decent) bikini looked and said, "This is perfect."

	"Notice however," Ranma-chan, who was dressed in a black tank top 
with matching shorts, grumbled as she and Gohan carried all the beach 
chairs, blankets, coolers and thermoses, "that she has her hands free.
"

	Usagi turned towards Ranma-chan and snapped, "Why didn't you say 
anything before?  I asked if you needed help and YOU said that you 
didn't need help!"

	"Because you would have whined about how heavy whatever you would 
have been holding was and we would have ended up carrying everything 
anyway!"

	"I do NOT whine!!!"

	"Your right... you wail!!!"

	"WHY YOU!!!!"

	"QUIET!!!!" Gohan roared.  He was attired in a green tank top and 
black swim shorts.  When the others looked at him he said in a calmer 
voice, "Listen, we're all stressed out, that's why we came here in 
the first place.  You've got to stop fighting.  Just for today.... 
please?"

	The two girls looked at each other and then at Gohan.  "We're sorry,
" Usagi said, "I understand how you feel.  I guess we have been 
getting a little out of hand."

	"Yeah," Ranma-chan said, "We'll be good."

	"Promise?" Gohan asked.

	The women smiled at him and replied, "Promise."

	A little later....

	"YAHOO!" Gohan cried as he rode his surf board over the waves.  
(Although, where he got the money for it was a complete mystery.)

	"Looks like somebody is enjoying himself," Usagi notted as she laid 
on her towel in the sun.

	"No kidding," Ranma-chan replied as she laid on her own towel, 
"Looks like fun."

	It had been a quiet two weeks, or at least as quiet as it could get 
with Ranma and Usagi.  The Eclipse Syndicate had not attacked them or 
committed any crimes and so the three of them were just able to go 
along and do their jobs while they tried to find ways to jog their 
memories into coming back.

	The stress of their jobs and the possibility of another sneak attack 
along the lines of Cameles had them all at their wits end and so 
Gohan had suggested that the three of them go to the beach and just 
relax.  Of course, the obvious problem was that, as close to New York 
City as they were, a habitable beach wasn't exactly a ripe commodity. 
 However, Gohan demonstrated once again that he was VERY strong as he 
carried all of them and the supplies all the way to a beach called 
West Meadow in only ten minutes.

	Ranma-chan looked at Gohan once more and then turned to Usagi as she 
asked, "Wanna see if we can get him to loan it to us later."

	"No way!  I'm not into that kind of thing."

	"Coward," Ranma-chan quipped with a smile, "what are you a man or a 
mouse?"

	"I'm a WOMAN thank you very much and speaking about being a MAN....
"

	Usagi lowered her voice as she asked, "What's with you coming here 
as a woman.... I would have thought you'd want to avoid that kind of 
thing as much as possible."

	"Why would I want to do that?"

	"Well... aren't you a guy?"

	Ranma-chan winced and replied, "Actually, I'm not sure."

	"REALLY??" Usagi exclaimed in amazement, "I just assumed that when 
we err... showed up here that you were a guy because that's how you 
origionaly were."

	"I thought so too but I've been thinking...."

	"THAT'S a dangerous thing."

	Ranma-chan playfully stuck her tounge out and replied, "Do you want 
me to finish or not?"

	"Sorry, go ahead."

	"Thank you.  Anyway, I was thinking that I shouldn't just jump to 
conclusions.  I mean, when I first saw you, I thought you were just a 
normal girl with a weird hair style and a nice smile.  Not some kind 
of super hero."

	"'Nice smile'?" Usagi asked not sure if Ranma was being sarcastic or 
not.

	"Ummm... well... errr..." Ranma stammered, making it clear to Usagi 
that she hadn't been kidding.  "Race you to the water!" she suddenly 
cried and leapt to her feet.

	Usagi decided to let it drop and replied, "Your on!"

	Meanwhile....

	Gohan surfed the waves.  He jumped up over the curl of the wave.... 
and ran smack into another one.  Gohan was more surprised by the blow 
then anything else and he fell off the board and into the water.  He 
blinked under the water and he looked around.  The salt did not 
effect his eyes so his vision was clear... and what he saw confused 
him.

	The two scuba divers he could understand, however there was a 
strange formation in the shadows, just a little ways beyond them.  At 
first he thought it was just coral and then he remembered that coral 
didn't grow that big as far north as he was.  "Maybe it's some kind 
of submarine,"Gohan thought, "and the scuba divers are a part of it.  
Oh well, guess it's not my business."

	Gohan swam to the surface, not noticing the strange camera attached 
to a mini-jet body which had been modified for water travel with a 
little propeller attached to the back of it.

	Inside the structure....

	Lujane looked around the newly constructed Genetiks lab and smiled.  
This was perfect.  Already several large glass tubes were filled with 
bubbling amniotic fluid and had Genetiks growing inside them.  In 
fact, the one that was labeled "GULL" was almost completed.

	Seer was uncomfortable, he much preferred the darker tombs of the 
Magicks Department but Eclipse Lord wanted him present in case any 
unexpected trouble showed up and Seer, not being one to disobey his 
master, went.

	Suddenly, a view screen popped to life and the image of the camera 
being appeared.  Lujane saw this and barked, "Camron!  What have you 
to report?"

	Camron replied, "There are two gophers in the feast and there has 
been a psudo-goldilocks sighting."

	Lujane turned to Seer and asked, "What did he just say?"

	Seer replied, "Blade Bot programmed him and you expect ME to 
understand him?"

	Camron prattled on, "The cheese is starting to turn and the sugar is 
getting thick."

	Lujane could not, for the life of her, understand what Camron had 
just said.  Fortunately, she had a way of dealing with him.  She 
pulled out a small remote with a red button and when she pressed the 
button, Camron was zapped by an electric shock.  The now sizzling 
Camron said, "What I meant to say was that we have two scuba divers 
approaching and that I saw Son Gohan in the vicinity of this facility.
"

	Lujane gasped and said, "They are on to us.  There can be no other 
reason they are so far from where they live.  I will not let them 
kill any more of my babies!"

	Seer did his equivalent of raising his eyebrows as he said, "A 
little protective of your warriors aren't you?"

	Lujane grinned darkly and replied, "There is reason for that.  When 
I was little, I had to have an operation that, as a result, denied me 
the right to have children naturally.  As I grew, I discovered that I 
had a natural skill for the science of Genetic Engineering.  I 
developed this skill and all the warriors in the Genetiks Department 
are of my designs."

	"I see now," Seer said, "as a result, you see them as if you had 
given birth to them yourself and thus are so very attached to them 
that the death of one of them brings you to tears."

	"Yes," Lujane looked at Seer threateningly, "but do not think for an 
instant that it makes me unworthy of the high rank I posses."

	Seer raised his hands in a calming gesture and replied, "No need to 
get defensive.  Besides, shouldn't we be dealing with the intruders?
"

	"Indeed.  Since none of my creations are ready yet, you shall be 
allowed to deal with them."

	Seer nodded and pulled out a golden trident from apparent thin air.  
He raised the trident high above his head and chanted, "Sea of 
darkness.... Sea of cold.... Sea of power.... Sea of old.... carry 
forth this summons on waves hell bent.... and summon forth my water 
commanding servant..... TRIDENT!"

	The trident in Seers hands began to glow and floated out of his grip.
  It halted in mid air and in a blinding flash, Trident appeared, 
gripping it tightly.  Trident was only five foot eight but he seemed 
to radiate with an inner power.  He had olive green skin, bulging 
yellow eyes, twin attenas above his mouth that looked like a 
moustache and he said in a voice as cold and dark as the ocean depths,
 "What is thy bidding my master?"

	"We have intruders," Seer said simply, "take care of them."

	"As you command."

	Trident teleported outside into the mirkey depths  He saw the two 
scuba divers exploring the strange construct which was in actuality, 
the underwater lab of the Eclipse Syndicate.

	<What is that thing?> the first diver "said", using hand signals.

	<Don't know,> the other signed back, <should we report this?>

	"You have intruded where you do not belong," Tridents voice suddenly 
said in their minds, "you will die for that."

	The two divers turned and saw as Trident raised his trident and a 
swirling vortex of water surrounded the two divers.  They spun in the 
whirlpools grip.  The air tanks were shredded, water was forced into 
their lungs and that was the way they drowned.  Trident shaped his 
whirlpool so that the two bodies were hurled towards the beach.

	Meanwhile...

	Gohan was leasurly swimming towards the beach, his surf board in 
hand.  He saw Ranma-chan and Usagi swimming around in the water and 
it pleased him to see both of them smiling.

	Usagi looked around, trying to find her sneaky opponent.  A tap on 
her shoulder made her spin around right into a face full of water.  
"GACK!" Usagi exclaimed, "Hey, no fair!"

	"Looks like your all wet now," Ranma laughed.

	"We'll see about that."

	Ranma-chans victorious laugh only lasted until Usagi started 
flinging her arms like a windmill and sent torrents of water at her.  
Ranma answered in kind and they continued this way until Usagi felt 
something brush against her leg.  At first she had thought it was 
seaweed until she looked down at it... and then she screamed.

	Gohan heard the scream and abandoning his surf board, took a deep 
breath, dove under the water and used his flight powers to move like 
a torpedo cutting through the waves.  He reached his friends and 
surfaced.  He saw a large crowd of people with Ranma-chan standing 
with her hand comfortingly on Usagis shoulder as the twin pony tailed 
girl stood staring at something in front of her, her face several 
shades whiter.  "What's wrong?" Gohan asked, "You look like you've 
seen a ghost."

	"Wrong part of the process Gohan," Ranma-chan said as she pointed to 
a place behind his, "look."

	Gohan turned and saw two bodies floating in the water.  "Those are...
" Gohan realized, "the divers I saw before.  I was wrong, that thing 
out there does concern us."

	Gohan whispered to Ranma-chan, "Do you have your ring with you?"

	"Yeah," Ranma-chan whispered back, "it's with our stuff and so is 
Usagis broach.  Why?  Expect trouble?"

	"Yes.  I know there's trouble out there.  I'm going to check it out 
and I need you two to back me up if I need help."

	Ranma-chan nodded and turned to Usagi.  "How you doing?" she asked.

	"O-o-okay," Usagi muttered shakily, "I guess.  I've just never seen 
a dead body before."

	"Neither have I.  Just one thing though."

	"What?"

	Ranma-chan lowered her voice as she looked at the crowd, "You think 
you could fake a faint?"

	"Why?"

	"We need to get to our stuff and it'd be believable, with you being 
the one who they brushed up against and all."

	"I'll try," Usagi raised her voice as she moaned overdramaticaly, "I 
don't feel so good.  I'm going to..." then she closed her eyes and 
slumped into Ranma-chans arms.

	Ranma-chan dragged her out of the knot of people shouting, "Get back,
 give this girl some air!  Can't you see she's passed out?!"

	When they got to their stuff Ranma-chan laid Usagi on her blanket 
and she opened her eyes and asked, "How'd I do?"

	"Nine point three," Gohan said.

	"Eight point seven," Ranma-chan said.

	Usagi replied as she crossed her arms across her chest, "Hmph!  I 
was robbed.  That was a nine point eight easily."

	"Dream on," Ranma replied with a grin.

	"I say again, Hmph!"

	That was when all chaos broke loose as a large form jetted out of 
the waves and flew into the sky.

	A minute earlier....

	A beeping from a control panel attracted Lujanes attention and when 
she read the report from the monitor, her features pulled into a 
tight grin.  "Ahh," she said with satisfaction, "Gull is completed."

	Seer asked, "Just what do you have planed for him?"

	"I'm going to send him to the surface and let him deal with the Trio.
  If they try to escape into the water, then Trident will deal with 
them."

	"I see.  I believe the expression for a situation like this is, 'If 
the left one does not get you then the right one will'."

	"Exactly."

	Lujane hit a button on the control panel and the tube that contained 
Gull shot upwards and out of the facility.  The tube reached the 
surface and exploded releasing Gull into the sky.  Gull flapped his 
wing arms and sqwaked.  His six foot frame was covered from head to 
toe with grey feathers.  He had a black beak and black foot talons, 
the nails on the end of them a contrasting white.

	Gohan, Usagi and Ranma-chan looked up at the creature in amazement.  
"Some day off," Ranma muttered as Gull landed on the sand.

	"No time to worry about that now," Gohan ordered, "I'll go under 
water and see what's up with that formation I saw.  You two think you 
can handle this monster alone?"

	As the other people on the beach fled for their lives, Usagi felt 
the twinge of fear she felt facing Camele but she did her best to 
force it down and replied, "I think so."

	"I KNOW so," Ranma said, "My looks and brains and your tiara makes 
the two of us unbeatable."

	"Who's looks?" Usagi said with raised eyebrows.

	"Never mind," Gohan cut in, "I'll see you later."  With that he 
grabbed his ring and dove into the waves.

	A quick look around to make sure that they were alone and Usagi 
grabbed her broach while Ranma-chan did the same with her ring.  A 
shout of magic words and a press of a black and white jewel replaced 
Usagi and Ranma-chan with Sailor Moon and Yin Yang-chan.

	The two heros stood, ready for battle.  Gull roared, 
"SKKKWWWWAAAK!!"

	"If that's your way of saying hello," Sailor Moon said, "Then you 
better say good bye for I am Sailor Moon and... ekk!"

	Gull used the sailor suited hero's tirade as an opportunity to 
attack and he stormed towards the heroes, skimming the ground as he 
flew several inches above it.  Yin Yang-chan tackled Sailor Moon out 
of the way and said hastily, "Save the speeches!  I don't think he's 
interested."

	Meanwhile.....

	Gohan pressed the green jewel on his ring and the costume of Great 
Sayaman was placed on his form.  He quickly removed the sunglasses as 
he saw that they would be nothing more then a hinderence in the murky 
depths.  He got closer to the formation and saw that it was a lab of 
some kind.  He thought, "That must be where that... thing came from.
"

	"You should not be here," a cold voice said matter of facility 
behind him, "Now you will die as well.  HAIL THE ECLIPSE!"

	Sayaman turned and saw Trident as he raised his trident upwards and 
Sayaman was sucked into a whirlpool.  He spun in its grip and he 
could feel life giving air leaving his lungs.  "If I don't do 
SOMETHING soon," he thought, "I'm gonna drown just like those divers.
"

	Back on the beach....

	Gull sqwaked again as he charged and both Yin Yang-chan and Sailor 
Moon rolled out of the way of the creatures wing arms as Gull flapped 
them rapidly at them.  Yin Yang-chan jumped into the air and 
delivered a jumping side kick to the chest of Gull and then followed 
up with a spinning crescent left kick to the head and then a forward 
punch to the bread basket.  Gull staggered back in surprise and 
roared in anger.  "Not much of a talker," Yin Yang-chan noted, "are 
you?"

	Gull let out his sqwaking roar and took to the air.  Sailor Moon 
went along side Yin Yang-chan and the two heros faced off with the 
beast.  Gull swept down at them and knocked both of them down with 
his hurtling form before he did a climb and went back up high in the 
sky.  "Sailor Moon," Yin Yang-chan groaned, "you all right?"

	"Yeah," was the pain filled reply, "I'll survive.  How do we stop 
this thing.  In case you haven't noticed, the only one of us who can 
fly is a bit busy at the moment."

	Gull, from his position high in the air, started to flap his wings 
at an unbelievable speed and the two heros were blown back by the 
extreme wind blast.  Yin Yang-chan was able to grab on to the side of 
a life guard tower but Sailor Moon went flying back farther and 
crashed into the side of a beach side house which was several feet 
off the beaches boundary line.  "SAILOR MOON!" Yin Yang yelled in 
alarm.

	This would seem to be a good time to find out how Gohan is doing....


	Sayaman wasn't doing that well, truth be told.  He tired spinning 
himself the other way but the force of Tridents whirlpool was too 
strong.  He was getting desperate and thought, "I haven't had to do 
this for quite a while."

	He let the rage he felt at his situation grow and then almost as if 
by second nature, his aura exploded as he powered up.  The force of 
his transformation dispelled the whirlpool and the shock waves send 
Trident flipping backwards.  The water creature stopped its flips and 
swam at the now golden-blond spiky haired and glowing green eyed 
Sayaman, determined to spear him on the end of his trident.

	Trident roared in anger and said, "It is time for you to feel the 
edge of my namesake."

	Trident stabbed at Sayaman forcefully but the Saya-jin warrior 
grabbed the weapon below its spiked head.  Then he wound up his arm 
and let loose with a shattering uppercut that sent Trident out of the 
water and into the sky.  Sayaman flew after him and in mid air let 
loose a volley of punches into the stomach chest and face of the 
stunned magical creature.

	He decided that the time to end the fight was now and he grabbed 
Trident with his left hand and let yellow energy fill his right.  The 
ki ball he unleashed launched Trident up into the air along with it 
and when it exploded, Trident was refracted back to the shadows he 
had been created from.

	Gull heard the explosion and turned, a squeak of confusion escaping 
his beak.  The end of the air force sent Yin Yang down to the ground 
with a crash and Sailor Moon slowly, achingly slowly, reached for the 
tiara on her forehead.  "You can do it Usagi," she thought as she bit 
her lip to keep from crying out in pain, "even though it feels like 
your back's broken... you can't let yourself be done in by such a 
third rate monster... I know I can do it."

	Finally, she reached it and managed to get her fingers to work 
enough to pull it off.  The tiara transformed into its discus mode 
and she reared back her arm, "MOON..." Gull started to turn as she 
flung her arm forward, "TIARA..." the tiara was about to be released, 
"ACTIO...AHHH!!!"

	A shooting pain racked her back and her arm jerked slightly to the 
right.  The tiara started to fly outward but its trajectory would 
carry it a little to the right of the monster.  "Unless," Yin Yang-
chan thought as she got up, "I do something."

	She watched as the tiara flew closer to where she was and when it 
was overhead she jumped up and swung her right leg in a kick at the 
tiara.  She suddenly realized that touching it would be instant death 
but it was too late to stop the kick now.  To her surprise, the tiara 
transformed back into its normal form just long enough for the kick 
to connect and straighten it back on its origionaly intended course.  
Then it turned back into discus mode and Gull let out one last scream 
as the tiaras magic turned him into a pile of dust.

	Gohan took a deep breath and splashed down into the water once more. 
 "Now," he thought to himself, "to make sure the Eclipse Syndicate 
doesn't get to use their new toy."

	He unleashed a ki ball and then another and another and another, 
until litteraly thousands of them blasted the underseas facility.  
Inside, Lujane screamed, "SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!!!  RETURN FIRE!!!"

	"We can not," Seer said, eerily calm given the situation, "this 
facility has no defensive weapons installed yet."

	"BLAST!" Lujane slammed her hand against a control panel, "Abandon 
base.  Eclipse Lord will not be happy with this turn of events."  
Then she pressed the teleportation device on her arm and teleported 
back to Eclipse Tower.

	"Perhaps," Seer said to himself, "but maybe now we will be force to 
truly deal with these pest and I have the perfect idea."

	Seer chuckled to himself as he faded away.

	Sayaman watched as one of his shots gutted the core of the facility 
and blew it sky err... water high.  Yin Yang-chan turned to see the 
collum of water shoot upwards and she said, "Looks like Gohan won his 
battle too."

	Then she turned and saw the condition Sailor Moon was in.  "USAGI!!" 
she cried in alarm as she pressed her ring again and became Ranma 
once more.

	She raced over to where her friend was lying face down in the sand, 
detransformed and she quickly cradled her in her arms.  Usagi yelped 
in pain and shouted, "Don't DO that!  My back is... OWWW.. killing me.
"

	"Sorry," Ranma-chan said and to Usagis surprise there were tears in 
the martial artists eyes.

	Gohan flew over and once on the ground he detransformed too and ran 
over to how the others were.  He saw the condition Usagi was in and 
he asked, "Are you going to be okay?"

	Somebody else answered, "She'll be fine."

	The three looked around and saw a man standing in front of the sun 
so all they could make out was a basic outline.  The stranger tossed 
Gohan some kind of brown bean and said, "Give her this and she'll 
make a full recovery in no time."

	"What is it?" Gohan asked.

	"A senzu.  It will heal all of her wounds and reenergize her," the 
stranger bowed and flew off, "See ya," he said.

	Gohan looked at Usagi and asked, "Your the one who's going to have 
to take this so what do you say?  You wanna try it?"

	"I guess," was the weak reply, "What else have I got to lose?"

	Gohan put the senzu in Usagis hands.  She brought the bean to her 
mouth and popped it in.  She chewed and nearly gagged on the 
incredibly bitter flavor of the bean.  She swallowed anyway, a 
believer in the old saying, "whatever tastes truly bad MUST be good 
for you."

	Ranma-chan asked, "Did it work?"

	Usagi suddenly leaped up to her feet and exclaimed, "It sure did!" 
she stretched out and continued with, "I don't even feel sore and I'm 
full of energy.  Hey, Ranma, let's pick up where we left off before.
"

	"No way," Ranma-chan said as she yawned, "I didn't get any special 
beans so I'm exhausted.  Let's go home."

	"I'm with her," Gohan said, "I still gotta fly all of us home and 
then I'm going to see if I can get another surf board."

	"Where did you get the money for that anyway?" Usagi inquired.

	Gohan answered with a nervous grin, "Sorry, top secret."

	"Oh, your no fun at all," Usagi chirped, "I just don't think I'm 
going to be able to sleep tonight.  Well, maybe I could try working 
on my cooking..."

	"NO!!!!" the others screamed quickly.

	"No offence," Ranma-chan said, "but... last time... well, let's just 
say that I never thought a pot could burn like that before."

	"I guess your right," Usagi replied sadly as she sat down on the 
sand next to her friends, "like you said before, 'some day off'."

	"Yeah," Gohan quipped, "Now all we need is a vacation."

END OF EPISODE

Next: A street magicians act turns out to be far more then meets the 
eyes as the off stage spell weaver is actually another member of the 
Eclipse Syndicate.  To make matters worse, he manages to steal Usagis 
broach and now while Ranma and a mysterious woman must protect her 
from attacking Scarab
Demons while Gohan grapples with Magico to regain the powerful pearl. 
 Can they do it?
