Actually, believe it or not, I'm hoping it will *increase* the spam
level, but with "spam" that is of a social interaction sort.
Okay let's see if I can put this so I don't step on toes... Also remember
that this is my opion. I join FFML to read fics and possibly even some of
the C&C as well as to push out the work that I manage to get done. I accept
and tolerate a necessary amount of spam but I don't whish to see the levels
increase. If I wanted social intereaction I'd turn away from my computer
screen and seek out people to physically intereact with. Sure I have
freinds I write to via e-mail but I think social interaction would be better
served off of MLs. A solution for you if your seeking this type of
interaction is to start a ML that's devoted to it put an ad for it out to
the FFML inviting people to join, or if your concerned about size select a
few people.
As for the Delete-o-Rama I never have. I have message spanning back from
near the start of the FFML archived away. Some I haven't read yet but every
so often I get a chance to go through and pick the ones I want to keep. The
most interesting stuff I read immediatly, the other stuff I save for later.
I'm very comfortable with the message level and I could handle more
messages. I think one of the overwhelming problems is that for some is that
they have to get the mail all in one gulp. The big burst times for me are
at 6PM and 8AM when I've let my mail build up. Most I've ever had was 188
in one day. Not to terrible considering that on my previous ISP I cleared
near 250 a day.
It's a matter of personal opion really, I personally can't see anything
wrong with the list in the volume. (shrug) Oh well....
