Gah... the only reason I can is because I work rotational shift work(mornings
one week, evenings the next, graveyard shift the next followed by a
weekend shift. Then I get about five days off before the cycle repeats.)
When you're doing rotational shift work, that means that there are times
when you are tired as hell but you still can't get to sleep. So I write
then(great, I'm admitting that I write to put myself to sleep :P) and I
write during that five day off period, and on weekends. It's also why I
let fic ideas mull around in my head for a long time before I write, I
don't have the time to start something if I don't feel I have enough
ideas to complete the thing. I also tend to get up a few hours before
work (easier when you're on rotat then with normal jobs), so I write
then as well.
