	Poul Anderson's book "Three Hearts and Three Lions" has something 
in it to this effect. The hero must determine which member of a family is 
a werewolf.  His job is complicated by the fact that several of the 
family are trying to protect the daughter of the house, believing her to 
be the guilty one.  The hero notices she has the flu and is, therefore by 
your above reasoning, innocent.  Good story.
