"Mother's Day" by Victor Kotou
I don't feel this story is complete, because of one big hole -- who was
the father of onna-Ranma's lost daughter? Easiest answer I can see (if
you like this one) is that he fathered the baby in Akane's womb and then
it was surgically moved to Ranma-Chan so she could carry it to term.
This scenario I've suggested assumes either that 1) Akane could not
survive another pregnancy without complications, or that 2) for some
reason motherhood would be important to Ranma, which would certainly
mean a different attitude than in the Takahashi storylines. Suggestions
-- use or don't, but the piece does need SOME explanation about the
father of the baby.
Also, why is Genma still living at the Tendo dojo, rather than back
with Nodoka in his own home?

I can sort of answer this one. Recently, there is a fic where Ranma and
Akane went to the Jyusenkyo to find a cure for Ranma's curse.
Unfortunately, it didn't work and Akane had to dive in the nannichuan to
save Ranma (I know, I know, the author apologised for the mistake as we all
know Akane can't swim). So, Akane was cursed and that's how onna-Ranma got
pregnant. Can't remember the title of the story though but in the end it
was Tatewaki Kuno who caused onna-Ranma to have a miscarriage, and that the
lost infant was indeed a girl. As to why Genma was still living in the
Tendo dojo, no idea. To keep Soun company perhaps?
