Um, yeah, actually, it *is* science. The Muldoon Priestesses use
technology and "techniques" developed in the ancient civilization of
El-Hazard ... which is a classic example of Clarke's Law -- "A
sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Their
training, depicted in an episode of the TV series (on the whole, eh, but a
great ending) does seem to be designed to teach them how to tap their
psychic powers.

Be patient. The second OAV series has only just come out in
Japan, and it probably won't be very long until Pioneer brings it out over
here.
In the meanwhile, you could always ... WRITE A FANFIC! The ideal
solution to any anime shortage! Plus, you control the vertical! You
control the horizontal! And you control the fates! WRITE A FANFIC!
