*pyrokinetic* powers, which is just boosted by the wrist gadget that also
wraps her in a powerful telekinetic field.  Yeah!  That's the ticket!

Actually, I always thought the Lamp of Wind, Lamp of Fire and Ring of Water
were ancient El-Hazard Artifacts (Shalya-Shalya's lamp certainly looks like
one). I figured that their abilites come directly from the artifacts, and
that just the priestess are trained in their use. Note: Yes, Shayla-Shayla
was chucking some impressive fire ALMOST-buck nekkid. The fire was still
coming from her gemstones though. 

Of course, this means that Makoto could use all of those items probably.
And the Power Key Staff, and Eye of God as well. Fanfic Idea: Makoto goes
insane and sets himself up as the Ruler of all El-Hazard. (okay, okay, that
would never happen, but it points out that Makoto is the potentially most
powerful person on that planet.)
