"Yaaah!"  Mousse's scream alerted the whole neighbourhood.  When
the others found him, he was in a state of shock.  The kettle in
his hand shook so hard that hot water splattered all over the
ground.  "Sh- She won't change back!"

Even without his unsteady finger pointing, everybody had already
seen Shampoo - wet, still in her cursed form and obviously no less
distraught than Mousse.

"What happened, Great-granddaughter?  How did you get locked?  Did
somebody do something strange, like splash you with water from a
ladle?"

Shampoo shook her head 'no' and mewed pitifully.  Nothing like
that had happened.

They tried all day to find out what had caused Shampoo's state. 
Mousse, Ranma and even Ryouga to Akane's surprise were
particularly interested in finding out, hoping to come up with a
way to reverse it, or at least a way to prevent it from happening
to others.  Yet, all their searching unearthed nothing.

Only a few weeks later, when Shampoo's belly began to swell, the
real cause became apparent.
