because cartoons are supposed to be for kids.  But for goodness sakes,
	That sentiment is exactly what we, anime watchers, _don't_
believe. That sentiment is also what keeps anime a bit on the fringes
still in the US, because anime is a cartoon usually _not_ intended for
kids....
	Gargoyles is much more like anime in that respect. The allusion
(and outright references) go far over the heads of most children. I'm
really glad that Disney did make it; it's a main-stream cartoon by a
main-stream studio--and yet, it's not quite main-stream, and prepares the
American public for anime, much better than Robotech would have done, in a
fashion.
