I personally think as long as the reader enjoys the fanfic that is
written, no matter how IC or OCC some people think it is, then the
writer has accomplished what he set out to do and that is write a story
that people talk about and want to see more of.

And while I'm on the subject, why doesn't everyone get off Zen's back? 
I personally liked "Bitter End" and I think some people are being very
unfair to him.  "Bitter End" is a tragedy, much like Romeo and Juliet
and it is a brilliant piece of work, IMO.  

You don't like the way Akane is portrayed?  Then stop *bitching* about
it and write your *own* fic that portrays Akane the way *you* want. 
That's the entire point of fanfiction, to write a scenario that you want
to see and see how others react to it, not to complain about how this
should be that.  So stop the spam and just WRITE.
