To put it mildly, Gargoyles is the GOD of american cartoons...

I hate to burst this person's bubble, but Gargoyles is NOT the
god of american cartoons. It was a good story to begin with (being
s from Scotland in the old days come back to life in the modern age
and how they deal with the timeshock) but now it's a mish-mosh
of crossed story arcs and mislaid plot lines.

Not so, I mean.. I admit its become very twisted lately, but that's
just in its charm. Not only do they mix in every single myth
possible, but they do it with a Maturity unfound in many Cartoons.
And each myth they investigate adds a bit of something to each of the
characters, they just don't brush it off and move on. Besides, you
can't beat the relationship that Goliath and Elisa have, and the
absolute fabulousness of Xanatos. And... and... and.. OWEN WAS PUCK!
Oopss, sorry, got over active there...

Now I don't want to go out on a rant about Disney, here, but I
just might have to. They realized that they had a money maker on
their hands, so instead of just quietly marketing it and continuing
to write those good "Gargoyles in NY" stories, they introduced
time travel and stories about them in Scotland again. Which is
fine, but
that's not where they are now. Then they had to go and make crappy
figures that were repaints of the first edition and over market
the product.

First: DISNEY IS A DAMNED COMPANY! It is not a single person. I'm
fed up with people who won't even go near anything that Disney makes,
just because "Its Disney." Grow up, Disney has a theme, it doesn't
have the black plague.
Second: Now what would happen if they just did the same things over
and over again, NY is a big city, but there are only so many stories
you can tell about it. I can't speak about time travel, because I
love it with an affinity like no other (thats why Sailor Pluto is in
everyone of my fanfics), but those Scotland stories are very good
sources literature. I mean, the Macbeth angle was great, And its not
just Scotland, its Shakespeare! They have things from A Midsummers
Night Dream, and Much Ado About Nothing as well.

I am ashamed to watch the new episodes and anyone else with a love
for good storytelling would too.

My personal vote for *the* best American cartoon is "Animaniacs!"
with "The Batman and Robin Adventures" coming in at a close second,
both of them produced by the Warner studio.

Okay, Animaniacs is great, i love that cartoon. But it really plays
out the "Typical" cartoon role. Sillyness with big mallets. Its
comedy, okay, its GREAT comedy. But I suppose it depends on what you
are looking for, Gargoyles definately loses when it comes to Comedy,
but its a much more enriching storyline.
The Adventures of Batman and Robin is a well done cartoon. Its got
action, seriousness, and a very interesting dark mood to it. Once
again, I suppose it is what you are looking for in a cartoon, this
one has lots of action and fighting. Well... okay Gargoyles has that
too.. but I guess Batman lacks the enriching part. I dunno....

Well, thats my spam about cartoons. With all the other spam going
on, i'm sure you all will just breeze over this post without even
looking at it, but so much is my life....
