There -is- an explanation. I won't spoil it, but the story already -has-
explained why Ranma can't change back.

  I find this amusing as all hell, to be truthful.  I thought the reason
for Ranma's nonchanging was blatently obvious.  I actually expected people
to complain about it.  <Grin.>
