Q1. Why all/most the fanfiction we see is of western origin
    and written in english?
    Why no Japanese authors?

Actually there is many non-western fanfic writers
out there. It happens, that main body of fic writers
tend to be college students (am i wrong stating this)?
And in US the situation with the connection to Net tend to
be better that into other countries.
Also may be of some use the fact, that Net is
into english language. And its hard to write not into your
mother tongue. Not impossible, but it really is harder.
Know by personal experience.

Q2. Are the Japanese anime fans aware of western fanfiction?
Since the Net and the many www pages, why shouldn't they?

Q3. Are the Japanese anime/manga creators aware of the fanfiction
    based on their works?
Thats the touchy question, that borders with the question
of the copyright. I tend to thought, that they know it,
but pretend to ignore. No big gain of suying some student
for using of their characters.
The www places on other hand, sometimes tend to be
looked at and asked to remove. The 'Neon Genesis Evangelion'
comes in mind. 'Gainax' stated clearly, that there can't be
related stuff on other that their official pages and pages,
they have authorized and found acceptable.
You can read their statement at the URL:
http://www.gainax.co.jp/news_eva/copyright-e.html

Were any comments made by them concerning western fanfiction?
	Not that i know about.

Anyone cares to correct and add more info?
