I know I'm going to get sooo flamed for this, but I believe it's true.
Shampoo belongs with Mousse. In the second Ranma movie (Nihao my
Concubine), they had the guys going after the girls ya know. Well, Nabiki
was with Kuno, Akane was with Ranma, Ukyou was with Ryouga, and Shampoo was
with Mousse. And when he was hurt, she acted like she really cared.
That's my two cents.

she was concerned for the guy! She never showed him anymore affection than
she would a friend. I think that's what Shampoo thinks of him as and
always will: a friend. She doesn't even show that much likeing toward him
most of the time though because she has appearances to maintain, but in a
few rare instances she lets her gaurd down and shows her true self, that
she's actually a caring person. She shows this deeper side to herself a
couple other times too... like when she doesn't kill Ranma after he tells
her he's a she. i don't think Shampoo, despite all her threats, would ever
actually kill anyone... though I think she thinks she would. I'm of the
opinion that even chasing Ranma around with that sword of hers, she would
have stopped the killing blow before it landed, unable to complete the
act, or if she did actually kill someone, she'd be devistated by it.

I have to agree with you. I think Shampoo cares for Mousse as a friend.
She just doesn't show it. If we take a look at the situation
realistically a few facts become apparent. Even though Shampoo is in
love with Ranma what does she really know about himother than the fact
that he is a great fighter? And what does Ranma really know about
Shampoo other than the fact that every time she shows up she glomps onto
him. That's why I believe that these two really couldn't get together.
Culturally they are too different. Neither one is taking the time to get
to know the other and both have mistaken ideas about the other person.

well, actually, its more that ranma hasn't taken the time to get to know
Shampoo. Really, Shampoo has been in a fairly good position to observe
Ranma's activities from afar. remember when she was first re-introduced as
a cat? She followed him around and watched from a distance as he went
about his life for quite some time. She's also followed him on alot of
differnet quests, and gotten to see how he relates to people. I think by
the end of the series Shampoo's love for Ranma has gone way beyond just
the "you beat me so must marry" stuff. I think the same thing happened to
Ukyo. The problem is, Ranma has never gotten a chance to know Shampoo
since he never goes on any quests with Shampoo as the leader, she's always
following him. I think if the roles were reveresed for a little while, or
the two of them spent any amount of significant time with eachother, there
respect for one another, and possibly love on Ranma's part, could bloom.
Shampoo, however, goes about getting that time alone in the completely
wrong way, by glomping him and making him nervous. Hey, nobody's
perfect...

I
think the more time Shampoo spends in Japan the more likely is a Shampoo
Mousse pairing. After all Shampoo spends most of her time working in the
restaraunt so she doesnt get a chance to really know the other kids and
Mousse is probably the only person her age who understands her culture
even if he is too agressive in his pusuit of Shampoo.

I tend to see it the EXACT opposite way. I think the more time Shampoo
spends around Mousse, the more likely it is that he'll lose her friendship
forever. He spends too much obsessively chasing after her that she'll just
get more and more annoyed with him, not less, after time (something
Shampoo herself should realize abut her own tactics with Ranma) and
Mousse's continued reckless actions and desperate challenges to Ranma are
just going to keeping making Shampoo madder and madder at him.

The duck boy really doesn't have much chance for Shampoo, IMHO.
