Is there any honorable way to get out of a ridiculous situation like   
this?[The engagement mess.]

I don't know. But Nodoka doesn't even seem to really care about the
engagement with Ukyou, so the only way for Ranma to be honourable
would be to marry Akane. Nodoka would have to be the one to think of
getting out of the situation with Ukyou.

But I guess that when Ukyou helped destroy the Saotome house, that
she doesn't deserve to have an honourable withdrawal of the engagement.

Deserve? What, pray tell, has deserve got to do with it? Ukyou is owed
a debt of honour by the Saotomes, a debt brought about by the engagement,
and Genma's stealing of the dowry(the yatai). Whether she deserves it or
not, it is owed. It must be settled somehow, and the party that it falls
to settle it is the Saotomes, they are the ones who owe her.

What I meant was that since Genma stole the yatai, giving the Saotome
family a dept of honour to Ukyou, that Ukyou's destruction of the
Satoome house puts her in a dept of honour to the Saotome family.
Thus they both cancel out.

Ukyou should pay her debt of honour, because of her honourless action,
by giving up the engagement to Ranma.

Everything would be settled then, especially since Ukyou helped destroy
an _expensive_ and probably ancient clan house, not just a yatai.

And as to deserve, fine. Your opinion. Certainly not mine. The only thing
I don't think Ukyou deserves is the life that Fate dealt her. That is my
opinion.

Well, Ukyou put herself in that position, not Fate. She decided to be a
man for the rest of her life, and she decided to go after Ranma and Genma
to kill them. *shrug* That's her choice, nothing to do with Fate. She
could have delt with what happened better, but she chose not to. So it's
Ukyou's fault.

Well, maybe Genma can marry Ukyou off to Souun. That should settle
something. :p

Yes. Well, whatever. I bet Akane would be absolutely thrilled to have Ukyou
as her step-mother... :p

Oh, well. Nabiki would keep Ukyou in check, I'm sure.

Hey, cool! Then Ukyou wouldn't be allowed to be in love with Ranma
any more, as she'd be his mother-in-law!

That would just make the relationship a bit more spicy, a bit more...
forbidden... 

Yes, I could see Ukyou thinking like that ... that doesn't say much for
her, wishing to be an adulterous slut. ;p  But at least we all know that
Ranma wouldn't go for it, because he loves Akane.
