Here's the newest part of the original story "Crimson Sky." It's titled
"Subdivisions." This part has taken far longer than I expected to write. I
wouldn't call it writer's block but it's just tough to put things in words.
I was a bit disappointed since I was not able to make it graphic enough to
achieve the effect. Well, it'll get bloody later on. Constructive C & C
are welcome. Have fun reading.

CRIMSON SKY
Part 4 Subdivisions

Reshion turns off the engine a block away from his destination, gets out of
the car quietly, and walks for the rest of the way. He knows that the
troublemaker is following him. He has realized it the minute he found out
that someone was trying to mess with his head to make him kill. He keeps
his eyes on the deserted building ahead. This is where he'll finish his
business.

The deserted building is locked up by an old-fashioned iron gate. There is
a slit of about one centimeter between the two iron doors. Reshion slips
his fingers into the small space and tries to slide the doors open. The
iron doors give a squeak as they bend and slide open by a few more
centimeters. Reshion steps back, raises his right fist and slams it into
the right iron door with lightning speed. The door then falls and hits the
ground with a loud thud. He looks at his bloody fist, he has forgotten to
bandage it. Oh well, it'll heal in no time. As long as he does not let the
chemical inside his body controlling him, he can use his power to regenerate.

As he enters the complex, a small beeping noise can be heard. He goes to
the security computer and punches in several buttons. The beeping stops as
the alarm has been disabled. Reshion glances at the broken door before
walking on, contemplating whether he should fix the door before he goes on
but then decides against it. People will just see this as vandalism anyway.
Reshion shrugs and continues walking. He stops at the elevator, thinking
for a minute, before continuing on to the stairway instead. Reshion takes
his time going up the stairs. Waiting and patience are good. He wants to
drive the follower insane with his slowness. But then knowing that whoever
that was sent to follow him must be someone of decent ability, Reshion's
method may not work after all. He shrugs mentally, it won't matter to him
either way. He's going to teach that person a lesson.

His footsteps echo throughout the stairways as he walks. He listens
carefully- no second pair of footsteps; the person who follows him is
cautious enough to keep in the same rhythm with him while walking. Reshion
stops and leans against the railing. He knows that the stalker doesn't know
that he has already felt his presence. Reshion decides that he'll have a
little fun with this person.

Reshion rolls up his sleeves, takes a deep breath, and starts running up
the stairs. He leaps and skips over some stairs and changes his running
speed constantly. All this time, Reshion listens carefully to the other
pair of footsteps, which is trying to keep in sync. Not bad, he realizes,
the person following him is pretty good at this job.

Reshion kicks the iron door to the top floor open and steps outside.
Everything is musty inside the complex. Sunlight streams through thick
spiderwebs, dozen of abandoned paper cardboxes, broken chairs and furnitures
scattered about. The cracked walls look about to collapse any moment.
Good, the atmosphere is gloomy, just the way he likes it.

He walks through the hallway of what must seemed to be an old office,
picking up pieces of metals that he finds of interest and throwing them over
his shoulder after he loses interest. Reshion knows that the person
stalking him is trying hard not to make any noise. He decides that it is
time to do something.

With a swift sleigh of hand, Reshion punches a hole through the wall on his
right. For a brief second, nothing happens. Then, as if on queue, the wall
in the room behind him collapses. The two other walls on the side collapse
behind him a few more seconds later. Reshion waits at the door of the next
room for a few moments before turning around. A pair of brown eyes meet his
blue eyes.

His stalker is young, Reshion speculates that he can't be more than twelve
years of age. So, this is the person who's been messing around with the
chemical inside of him.

"What do you want?" Reshion asks coldly.

"Nemesis the Silencer," the child replies. "you're much much younger than
I expected."

When Reshion doesn't reply, the child continues. "You can't fight them
Nemesis. The lab you destroyed is only one of their subdivisions, though it
is one of their strongest."

"They made you come here to mess around with my mind," Reshions speaks
tonelessly. "it's not working. Now leave."

The child stands up suddenly and pulls out some kind of mechanism from his
pocket. He hits a button and a slow beeping sound starts to echo throughout
the complex. A sharp pain shoots through Reshion's brain as the beeping
continues.

"Go ahead Nemesis," the child says, laughing. "try controlling yourself."

So that's what they're trying to do. Reshion clenches his fists, his face
remains expressionless. The command to kill is becoming stronger now. He
has to control himself; he is not about to let them abuse his supernatural
power again. He looks up just in time to see the child draws out a gun. He
aims it at Reshion and fires. Reshion's eyes darkens at the oncoming
bullet, it hits him squarely on the shoulder and explodes as soon as it
makes contact with his flesh. Crimson blood splatters on to the wall as the
explosion occurs. With a lightning movement, Reshion snatches the control
from the child's hand and crushes it. The beeping stops immediately, and
again it is dead silence in the complex.

"I just did," Reshion replies with a coldness enough to freeze and shatter
one's bone.

The child seems shocked. He has not expected Reshion's speed and strength.
The people had told him that the control will do the job. But somehow, this
has
not worked; and although the bullet has hit its mark, Reshion hasn't even
showed pain- this person doesn't even seem human at all. The child takes a
step back as Reshion takes a step toward him.

"Do you know what Nemesis does to people who cross his path?" Reshion asks.

"You kill them." the child replies.

Reshion replies cruely. "I slash their throats and tear them apart, limb by
limb; but I let them bleed to death."

The child does not answer, but Reshion can tell from the child's eyes that
he is frightened. Other than that, the child has kept his face
expressionless. He is a young child still in training, in training to
become a murderer like himself.

"Tell me, do you want me to rip your throat out?" Reshion asks him. When
the child doesn't respond, he turns around and starts to leave the complex.

"Failure is not allowed," the child says to himself. Reshion hears a click
and turns around. There he sees the child, with the gun pointing toward his
head, his eyes closed and his hand shaking. He is going to shoot himself.

Reshion slowly walks toward the child, his eyes on the gun. He knows that
the child is hesitating and cannot bring himself to commit suicide.
Suddenly, without warning, the child's eyes snap open, he aims the gun at
point blank range and fires.

"Big mistake Nemesis," he laughs. "seems like domestication has softened you."

Reshion remains at where he is, his eyes look at the child coldly. The
child takes several steps back in horror as he realized that the bullet has
not even hit its mark. It's impossible, for the bullet is hovering
centimeters from Reshion's face. It seems frozen in motion. In a frenzy,
the child fires again. He continues to fire until he runs out of bullets.
By then, there are almost a dozen bullets hovering in front of Reshion, all
of which are frozen in motion.

	"Sonna..." the child exclaims. "bakana..."

The bullets remain in the air for a few more seconds before redirecting
themselves toward the child. His brown eyes open wide in horror at the
oncoming bullets. He cringes and squints his eyes shut, waiting for the
pain. When nothing happens, the child opens his eyes again and almost cries
out in surprise when he finds the bullets millimeters from him. He yelps in
fear and surprise when the bullets start to explode around him, one by one.
The child throws his arms up to shield himself from the explosions while
Reshion watches on impassively, using his power to detonate each bullet
around the child's body.

The isolated complex is strangely quiet when the explosion stops. Reshion
remains standing in front of the child, looking down at the now kneeling
figure. The child is breathing heavily, his small frame is shaking from
fright. The bullets have not wounded him, they have exploded before
reaching him. But the prospect of being threatened and mentally tortured
like that is too much for this young child.

"Tell me," Reshion begins. "what are they planning to do?"

"I...I don't know." Another bullet explodes by the child's side. He yelps.
"They...their target is your current family! And...and the people around you."

	"What's with the controlling device?"

"They use it to make people kill."

"What does that have to do with my power?"

"They said...they said the chemical they use to control your 'power' is
similar to the ones they use to hypnotize others to kill so your chemical
should respond to this new device."

	"Why do they want me?"

"Because..." the child hesitates. "I don't know. They says they want your
power for more important things and if you won't obey, I'm suppose to kill you."

"Anything else you're not telling me?"

The child shakes his head. "They'll punish me if I fail," he says bitterly.
"it's my first assignment, I'm not suppose to fail."

Reshion looks at the child quietly. Then he raises his left arm and hit
the child hard. The force sent the child crashing hard into the wall. The
child gasps in pain and surprise at Reshion's sudden onslaught. The force
of it has caused him to dislocate his shoulder.

"I trust that you can make it back to the lab without getting noticed?"
Reshion asks. The child nods. "With this injury, you can lie your way
through."

The child stares at Reshion silently, his gratitude written in his eyes.
Reshion regards the child with an impassive gaze, his cerulean blue eyes
seems to look through the child's mind. Finally, he turns on his heels and
approaches the stairway.

"Tell them to leave me alone," Reshion says to the child as he reaches the
staircase. "because the next time, I won't be so merciful."
