Hmmm, I prefer it to see this way. You have the set up pretty good.
Ranma basically has to move into the Kuno mansion. But you could have it
as Ranma acts as a balance which helps to control Kodachi. Ranma comes to
feel sorry for Kodachi and her mental stability, and he comes to realize
that Kodachi really needs him. etc. etc.
I like this idea the best. Akane's always saying how she doesn't need
anyone, let alone a boy, and this is one of the things that hurt their
realtionship the most. Don't get me wrong, Ranma is also guilty. Neither
is willing to admit weakness and so neither is made to feel that they
are needed.
Giving Ranma someone he can take care of is a great way for love to
bloom in a story and I can't think of too many characters more needing
then Kodachi. Maybe Mousse. This also sets up Ranma for learning how he
has needs that must be met as well. Lots of life and love potential
here.
Sigh...if only I wasn't such a cynic (I TRULY believe that actual
romantic love simply doesn't exist beyond a narrative.)
PS: I think Kodachi is the sexiest woman in Ranma 1/2.
I prefer the classics, Shampoo and Kasumi (yep, my fantasy life is a
SCARY place)
