Okay, I seem to recall this game. Five words...

* Damon puts his fist down momentarily, then raises it and beats it in
the air again, sticking out a single finger.

First word. 1 syllable...

* He opens his hand and peers at it carefully, then cradles it against
his chest.

Love, precious, cherish, a locket! A picture...of someone you love! Er...
This is really hard when the other person isn't nodding or shaking their head! Um, it's gotta be "love". Has to be... I sure hope it is. Probably not. I'm way off :/

* Damon then beats his fist in the air twice, sticking out one finger
again.

Second word, 1 syllable...

* He grabs a woolen rug, drapes it around his shoulders, then runs
around the room muttering, "Baa, baa," tucking himself in close to the
ground and attempting to scrunch up as small as possible.

O_O

Sheep! Little sheep! Er, baby sheep? Kawaii? What the heck do you call a baby sheep anyway? A female sheep is a ewe which could mean the word "you", but I'm not getting a gender thing from this. Ummmm, let's just stick with "sheep".

Hmm, Love Sheep... I don't like where this is going :P ;)

* Damon stands up, beats his fist in the air three times, again sticking
out one finger.

Third word, 1 syllable...

* He holds his hands together, folding them out like a book, and peers
closely at them.

Read! A story! Page? Must be "read"... Love Sheep Read... urk...

* Damon beats his fist in the air four times, sticking out a single
finger again, then points at himself.

Fourth word. 1 syllable...You, me, my, mine...me? Let's see...Love Sheep Read Me... @_@ I must be really bad at this.

* He beats his fist in the air five times, sticking out two fingers this
time.

Fifth word. 2 syllables...

* Damon sticks out one finger, then waves his hand in front of his face,
fanning himself.

First syllable... Hot, warm, humid, sweating, sweaty, sweat...stinky? Hmm.
Love Sheep Read Me Warm----- Oh my...

* Damon sticks out two fingers, then acquires an acute case of hiccups.
*HIC*!

Fifth word, second syllable... "hic"? Warm-hic? "Warm" must be wrong :/
Am I even in the ballpark? <Panda sees the ballpark way off in the distance> I won't be able to go to sleep not knowing the answer you twisted and torturous person! Please tell us the answer Almighty God of the Obtuse Charade! :PPPP ;)
