But, you see, it _did_ work.  Ranma can do the Cat-Fist.  That's the plot
hole.

(May as well also ask why the tiger in the original Mousse story didn't
affect Ranma.)

As I recall, the disclaimer said nothing about the method being
ineffective... it only said, 'only a total fool would actually use this
method of training' or somesuch.
