Who in your opinion is the best baddie?
Assuming that by "baddie" you mean antagonist, and not necessarily an
evil-type character...
Zagato:
From Magic Knight Rayearth (first series). He's calm and
collected, with his mind set on one goal despite the flak that he often
takes. After all, he is [SPOILERS AHEAD!!!] in love with Princess
Emeraude, which is why he desperately wants to stop the Magic Knights from
reaching her (or outright destroy them). He also seems to show little or
no remorse from his actions, and is willing to sacrifice an entire world
just for the sake of his beloved Emeraude.

"Why must a single person's happiness be sacrificed in order to
maintain the balance on this world? Why must Emeraude suffer so much?"
And my favorite Ranma 1/2 character:
Ryuu Kumon
From Ranma 1/2, volume 28. He's about the darkest character in the
Ranmaverse, including Saffron. All of his life he's lived in poverty,
disaster after disaster, and orphaned since age six. However, he only
wants to rebuild the Kumon Doujou, which can be done (supposedly) by
learing the Saotome School's Umisenken. And yet he never intended to kill
Ranma or Genma, who are in part responsible for his wrecked life. He even
likes Mrs. Saotome and would fight for her sake.

(To Ranma-chan/Ranko) "Tell your mother the truth, for her sake."
