Your point is totally valid. Ranma is not the greatest, biggest, baddest,
toughest (etc) character in anime, and anyone to say that is either
delusional, or
a fool.

But so what? What's the point? Ranma 1/2 is a martial arts comedy not a
story about
the fate of the universe, so the characters won't have to be incredible
powerful, just
funny. Ranma just happens to be the third (or second, or if you ask Blade
fourth or fifth)
best fighter in Ranma 1/2 series. Those who are better are Colonge and Happi...

And if some fanfic writer wants to make Ranma beat the living hell out of
DBZ characters,
he or she can do that. It'll just be totally illogical and he/she will
probably get flamed...

Well, since Ranma is a Takahashi character who all seem to have an
incredible ability
to survive anything and get back to their feet in no time no matter how much
punishment they
get, one could assume that he could survive being blown to bits... ^_^
