If I ever get round to expanding the story I'm planing to explain that
the Nuannichuan was actually a catalyst that allowed Nodoka to permanently seal
her powers away. It only worked because she wanted to become human so much.
Ranma on the other hand possesed fully awakened power, and the Sanjiyan power
was stronger than the Jusenkyo curse.
Would it really matter? I always thought that the Sanjiyan power was
spiritual not genetic (That's why Pai from 3x3 eyes needs the statue).
Also do Nodoka and Ranma have alternate personalities for their Sanjiyan
forms? (Pai seems to but you may be taking this in a different
direction.).
