I don't really know about the Nabiki/Kunou stories, but for myself I
can say that I'm working on a Ranma/Ukyou story that was partially
motivated by my dislike for all the Ryouga/Ukyou stories out there.
(I suppose, though, that anyone who manages to come up with any
reason at all to believe that a Ranma/Akane marriage would actually
work might just be able to believe Ryouga/Ukyou as well. :)
Uh, what's wrong with the Ranma/Akane pair? Not to mention the Ryoga/Ukyo
pair?
Ok, As I see it the writer is questioning weather Ranma and Akane could
have a happy marage if they marry really soon after the end of the series. The
fact is that while their love for each other is unquestionable and they were
starting to become increasingly able to express it without hitting or insulting
each other by the end, they still need to do some more maturing and growing
together before they'll make a really good married couple. Basically they love
each other and they've got the motivation to make their marrage work, the thing
that's being complained about is where Ranma and Akane confess their love and
get married and sudenly their relationship is perfect with no more fights. I
myself don't ever see them stoping fighting, but unlike in the manga when they
fight it will lead to resolutions and changes.
As for the Ryouga Ukyo pairing, the complaint is that the Manga didn't
give any basis for this. So the pairing is somewhat like the fanfic writers
trying to deal with the two characters who wouldn't end up with anyone and pair
them up.
This is not a flame.
This is me being curious.
