It's just that Ukyou's characterization is too close to normal.  Apart from 
the spatula and cooking, there isn't much special stuff about her the way
there is about Shampoo and Kodachi (backgrounds leave more to the 
imagination, lots more weird quirks, stranger families, etc.).  The same 
goes for Akane - these two have much more subtle quirks that can't be 
exploited as easily.

Besides, getting Ranma with Akane is just too damned easy.  A chimp with
a xt could write a Ranma gets together with Akane fic (^_^).  Even
Ukyo is far too easy.  If you really want to test your writing skills
get Ranma with Shampoo, or Kodachi for that matter.  That takes some
creativity, imagination, and even some guts.  And don't make it
a stupid love potion (hate, hate, HATE, _HATE_ love magic) or some
all the rivals die or even the others end up miserable.  We want
something where Shampoo and Ranma get together and the look out
for their future and the other characters future is good.  It isn't
that hard guys/gals.
So, let me make this a formal challenge to anyone who calls himself
a Ranma 1/2 Fanfic writer:  Write a Shampoo gets Ranma fic.  Hell,
write a Kodachi gets Ranma fic.  Come on people, let's see what you
can do!

No, let's make the challege: write the worst opening to a revenge fic of a 
Kodachi gets a part of Ranma fic, with only one-syllable words.
