It's like the way I might lose my current web space when I graduate. M.I.T.
can't keep me out of coolcompanythathireslizsue.net or mitalumnae.net.
But they can say "You're an alumna now! Come back and join the faculty if
you want server space again!" and keep me out of *.mit.edu.
Here at U Chicago they are thinking of going to a permanent email address
system, where alumni will keep their email accounts. The Graduate School
of Business already does this.
