Chapter 3
*********
     
     Nabiki  watched her sister get ready for bed,saying,"I don't 
see what you're problem is,Akane.You two are perfect for each other."

     "Oh.How do you figure?" Akane asked as she started to brush her 
hair.

     "Well,you've already seen each other naked..."

     "We have not!" Akane yelled indignantly.

     "You've seen your boy form naked before,right?"

     "Well yeah,like when I'm taking a bath..." Akane said slowly 
as she tried to figure out where her sister was going with this.
 
     "Well,unless your fiancee has completely avoided taking a cold 
bath since he got cursed,you have_technically_seen each other naked."
Nabiki explained with a smirk,enjoying seeing her sister get 
flustered.

     "T-That doesn't count!" Akane stuttered.

     "Well,why don't we ask him?" Nabiki said as she headed towards 
the door.

     "You wouldn't dare..."

     "Oh,wouldn't I?" Nabiki asked with an eyebrow raised as she ran 
out the door."

     "Hey! Get back here!" Akane hollered as she picked up a pillow 
and ran after Nabiki,swinging it threateningly every so often.

     Ranma spent his first night at the Tendos vainly trying to get 
some sleep,covering his ears with his pillow to block out the noise 
in the hallway.

                             * * * 

[The next day] 

     Ranma-chan angrily walks inside the house,impatiently tucking a
strand of wet hair behind her ear as she waits for the kettle of
water to turn hot.Her father had just informed her that she was going
to school today during their morning spar session making him loose
his concentration and thus was easily pushed into the koi pond.

     It was bad enough that he was engaged to someone he had just met
the day before,though he had to admit that it could be worse.Akane
was the first friend she had made in ages and it didn't hurt that she
was very cute,but it was a little weird talking to someone who looked
like her when she was in male and in female form.

     She heard someone walking down the stairs and she looked up to
greet her new friend.Words failed to come out of her mouth however,as
she looked at Akane who had just entered the room wearing a uniform.A
BOYS furinkan High uniform to be exact.

     <Wow.> Ranma-chan thought as she stared at the loosefitting pants
and dress shirt Akane was wearing which did nothing to hide her
terrific figure <She looks *gulp* cute.>

     She would never tell her that of course,knowing full well that
their parents would take it the wrong way and think of it as a sign of
her approval to the engagement.Instead,she said something else that she
thought would be safer to say."Why are you dressed up as a guy? Sheesh,
you're such a tomboy!"

     Akane quickly whipped out a mallet from somewhere and smashed it
on Ranma-chan's head."Why do_you_think,moron? You think I want my boy
form to walk around in a dress!?" An evil smile suddenly forms on her
face as an idea pops into her head."Although now that you're around..."

     "Don't even_think_about it!" Ranma-chan exclaimed as Kasumi gave
her the kettle of hot water and poured it on herself turning back into
her normal form.

     "Look,Saotome-kun.They've only been engaged for a couple of hours
and they've alredy got nicknames for each other." Soun said before he
started to wail.

     "Young love is so beautiful." Genma added in between bites.

     "Oh,shut up!" Akane said in an annoyed tone before walking out the
door.

    "Akane,wait up!" Ranma yelled as he leapt after Akane who was running
on the fence.

     "Look,I'm sorry about what I said in there,alright." He said a bit
nervously since he wasn't used to apologizing."Are you still mad?"

     Akane looked thoughtful for a minute."Well,I was.But since you're
sorry..." She said with a shrug as she leapt up to a higher fence."As
long as you didn't mean it."

     "Of course not.How about you?"

     "Huh?"

     "Did you mean what you said about running around in your boy form
while wearing a dress?"

     "Well..." Akane said,her evil grin returning as she started to run
off.

     "Akane no baka!" Ranma yelled as he chased the now hysterical Akane
down the fence.He was about to leap to a slightly lower fence when a
stream of water splashed him on his right turning him into a she.She
turned and saw the old woman who got her wet continue washing her front
walk,oblivious to the sudden gender change in front of her.

     Akane however,did notice and ran back to her with a sheepish grin
on her face ."Oops! Did I forget to tell you about her?"

     "Yes!"

     "Well,I guess this means we have to stop at Dr.Tofu's clinic so
we can get you some hot water."

     Ranma-chan followed Akane to a nearby building,catching a glimpse
of a bright smile on the way.

     <What's with her?> she wondered.
 
     She got her answer when they saw the doctor a couple of minutes
later.Akane's face turned a soft shade of red and she noticed that her
friend's voice softened a bit when she said hello.

     "You haven't been by lately,Akane." The doctor said as he put
the skeleton he was carrying in a corner of the room."And who is she,a
cousin perhaps?" He asked as he looked at Ranma-chan.

     "Um...not exactly." Akane said a bit nervously.

     "Akane,come on! We're going to be late!" Ranma-chan yelled as she
dragged Akane and the kettle of hot water out the door.

     "That was rude,Ranma!" Akane said with an icy glare as she watched
her fiancee turn back into a man.

     "I'm sorry,but I don't plan on telling complete strangers about my
curse."

     "But he's not..."

     "Hey,did you hear that?" Ranma interrupted as he stood still
trying to find the source of the unusual sound.

     Akane did the same and groaned as she realized it was the same
sound that she hears every morning."Come on.It's just the boys at
school getting ready to fight me."

     "What!?"

     "I'll tell you later." Akane yelled as a horde of boys in
various sports uniforms appeared and started to attack the obviously
annoyed Akane.He waited patiently as she started to knock them all
into unconsciousness and idly wondered why she held back when they
were all trying to kill her.He made no move to help her knowing that
she wouldn't appreciate his help and would probably even be insulted.

     He was walking towards her after she kicked her last opponent
over the gate when "I Was Made For Loving You" by Kiss started to 
play.Ranma felt something shoot out from behind him,missing his face 
by only a couple of centimeters.He turned around and found himself 
face to face with a handsome boy wearing a blue kendo outfit.

     "So you finally dare show your face,evil sorcerer! I Tatewaki
Kuno shall defeat thee and free the beautious Akane from thy grasp!"

     "Wha?" Ranma asked,a confused look on his face.

     "Silence!" Kuno shouted with an arrogant sneer. "The time for
words has passed.Defend yourself pea*urk*!"

     His monologue was instantly cut off by Akane's giant mallet.
She kicked him on his side to make sure he's unconscious before
hurriedly walking towards the school building as the final bell rang.

     Ranma slowly followed her,watching some of the boys as they
started to regain consciousness.He heard someone moan in pain as the
boy felt the broken bone he received from Akane right after confessing
his love to her.His gaze then went to the still unconscious swordsman
and Nabiki who was taking the opportunity to go through his wallet.

     This sure is going to be an interesting year.

       Well,that's part three.Did you notice the seventies 
reference?Part four will come out soon and will be about the rest of 
Ranma's first day of school.Expect a lot of weirdness on that one.
