P.S. It went from a 486/66 to a Cyrix 686/166.

A friend of mine got a Cyrix, and he's now regretting the decision.

Well, all I can say is that I've never had any trouble with my Cyrix.

Apparently, though, they can overheat and go unstable if the heatsink 
isn't installed properly. If you have these kinds of problems, the 
first place to look is probably there.
